Gifts are fun to give…until you get really stumped trying to find just the perfect one! There have been times when I’ve spent far too much time online and searching through way too many stores, only to end up buying a gift card. Don’t get me wrong, gift cards are great too. There’s just not the same excitement involved as when you give someone an actual gift to open. We loved presents as kids and admit it, we still love them as adults. There are some things you just never get tired of (especially if that gift bag contains a new pair of fancy heels)!
I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for great new gift giving ideas! However, over the years, I have come up with a little list of my favorite things to present to friends and family (and no, it’s not always a bottle of wine…but when it is, I like to get creative, you’ll see)! Some of these were even gifts that were given to us and became favorites in my household. Anyway, next time you’re stumped, maybe you can try one of these ideas!
So yes, I do love to give wine…mostly because I know so many people who love to receive it!!! However, just picking up a bottle of wine and putting it in a gift bag is way too easy (and not nearly as fun as what I’m about to show you). If you plan ahead (you only need about a week or so) you can really do it right! Evermine has become my new best friend! You can create all kinds of fun gifts for a variety of occasions. Here are a couple examples of gifts that I’ve made:
The first was for my hubby’s birthday last November. We had just moved to Florida and he always loves to say that we’re “livin’ the dream” so I thought it would be fun to incorporate it into the label. The second was a gift I just gave out a couple weeks ago. We recently bought a major fixer upper and there’s going to be a lot of work going on in the next couple months. I didn’t want the neighbors to completely hate us before we even moved in so I handed out these mini bottles of wine to the 15 neighbors closest to us (and don’t worry, that’s not our house in the background…it’s photoshopped). There are lots of other templates and themes to choose from. This one just happens to be my favorite.
The great thing is that you can use Evermine for so many different gifts, such as weddings, bridal showers, housewarmings, college graduations, holidays, you name it! Other ideas: Beer labels for the guy who has everything, canning labels if you’re the crafty type that gives out homemade goodies for the holidays, personalized note cards for your child’s teacher (I always loved getting those when I was a teacher) and coasters. You’ll have to go to the website to see everything that they have to offer but I will say that these are just as much fun to create as they are to give!
I LOVE Personalization Mall because they have so many gift choice but let me tell you about my favorite. One of the most cherished gifts in my household has been the personalized “blankie” that my daughter was given when she was born. It was so soft and snuggly that we both loved it right away. It was even more special because it had her name, birthdate and a cute little design embroidered into it. Eventually I had to buy a second one just so I could wash the first one (if you’re a mom, you know exactly what I’m talking about)! Thanks Aunt Ginger for being the best gift giver ever…even at age 7, she still sleeps with her special blankie every night!
When my youngest was born, I found out that the original company had gone out of business and frantically searched high and low to see if I could find another just as perfect as the original. I found an almost identical one at Personalization Mall and now my youngest loves her two blankies as much as my oldest does! I’m not sure you can find a softer blanket anywhere! It’s so much fun to create too since you can choose from so many different colors, fonts and pictures!
You really can find something for everyone here. They even have themed gifts for holidays such as Easter (stuffed bunnies), Christmas (personalized ornaments) and more…
What female doesn’t want jewelry and if you’re a mother, what better gift can there be than to have jewelry incorporated with your children’s or grandchildren’s birthstones? I gave my grandmother a gift similar to this several years ago and she loved it (or that’s what she told me anyway…LOL). Anyway, you don’t have to spend a fortune to find some really pretty pieces and I found a great selection at Things Remembered. Some pieces hold just 2-3 birthstones while others hold up to 8. You can choose from necklaces, rings, bracelets and more. I loved these selections below but there are well over a hundred styles to choose from!
Hopefully I’ve given you some good ideas for the next time you’re stumped as to what to get the person that has everything. Keep following for more gift giving ideas in upcoming weeks…
