I was invited by Disney to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I paid a conference fee and received complimentary goodies but all opinions are entirely my own.

Day three of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration was one I’d really been looking forward to. This was the day we were going to board the Disney Wonder for my first ever Disney cruise. For once, I jumped out of bed in the morning, rather than hiding under the covers and hitting the snooze button like I normally do!

The day started with a trip to Disney Springs for a sneak peek at the new Disneynature movie “Born In China”. If you haven’t seen it yet, get to a theater now…you’re going to love it! Follow along with a camera crew as they film the lives of three sets of animals, a mama snow leopard and her cubs, a mama panda and her baby and a hilarious family of golden monkeys. The filmmakers really seemed to capture the true personality of these animals and by the end of the movie, you’ll be totally in love with them. You can check out my full review here.

We kicked off day three of the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration with a private screening of Born In China

Next, it was off to Port Canaveral for our cruise! I felt a little bad that I had to leave my family behind, but luckily my friend Kristie had come along to keep me company. The magic starts before you even board the cruise, with Captain Mickey standing by to greet everyone and take pictures. Then as you board, your name is announced as if you are a royal prince or princess…so fun!

When we got to our room, I was impressed by the size of it. While not huge, it was much roomier than I expected and there was plenty of elbow room to move around. There was also lots of storage, not so important for just the two of us, but good to know for when I bring the family.

The bedrooms on board the Disney Wonder cruise were larger than expected

I don’t think I could ever do a cruise without a balcony. The view was beautiful and we made sure that we took the time to enjoy it, especially at sunset!

The view from on board the Disney Wonder cruise was pretty amazing

One thing first time Disney cruisers may not know is that door decor and fish extenders are pretty big deals. While I didn’t know enough about fish extenders to participate this time, our door certainly looked pretty. Thanks to Laura from Pink Cake Plate for using her awesome crafting skills to make these for us!

I learned a lot about Disney cruising at the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration

The first thing on our influencer agenda was lunch at the Animators Palate. The highlight of a meal here is that you actually get to become an animator for the afternoon. You’re shown to your table and given what looks at first like a placemat. However, this is actually the canvas where you’ll draw your very own cartoon person. I know what you’re thinking…my artistry is pretty impressive, right?

Then, while you’re eating, the Disney magic happens and all the characters come to life.

After lunch, we attended a reception where we learned about some of the exciting things that we can look forward to on upcoming Disney cruises. Both my girls would go absolutely nuts for the Star Wars Day At Sea Cruises. After our most recent trip to Disney, my five year old told me that while she loves me more than chocolate, “Chewy” is #1 on her list.

Not only does the cruise serve Star Wars themed food and drinks, kids can take part in Jedi training, Star Wars themed arts and crafts, games, music and a galactic dance party. The grand finale includes special effects, fireworks and Star Wars characters. I have to admit, I’d love it as much as the kids.

I’m also pretty excited about the new Beauty And The Beast stage spectacular. Belle has always been my favorite princess and Disney always puts on a fabulous show. You’ll have to wait a little longer though…it doesn’t premiere until November 2017 on the Disney Dream.

After the presentation,  it was time to meet back up with Kristie and explore the ship. First we had to make one important stop!

Taking some time to relax at the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration

We were two moms on a cruise without the kids…what else would you expect? In case you’re wondering why the pool seems so quiet, this was the adults only pool. While I felt guilty about leaving the kids behind at first, I quickly found that you don’t have to bring the kids to have a fantastic time! Our kid free cruise was relaxing and fun and definitely not just for kids!

When it was time to set sail, we headed to the main deck for a dance party (Disney is big on dance parties!)

It's a big deck party when the Disney Wonder sets sail

After that, we gave ourselves a tour of the ship and discovered gift shops, movie theaters (showing the latest Disney movies, of course), the kids club and more pools. I’m pretty sure my girls would be on this waterslide all day!

What kid wouldn't love this waterslide on board the Disney Wonder

For the adults, there was a fitness club, spa and salon and nighttime entertainment like The Cadillac Lounge, Azure and The Crown & Fin, a traditional English pub.

There were lots of things to do for the attendees of the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration that were traveling without kids

That night, dinner was at the New Orlean’s themed restaurant Tiana’s Place.

Our first dinner at see was at the New Orleans style restaurant, Tiana's place

When we got to our table, I realized that Disney really does think of everything. They paired us up with other kid-free cruisers so we could all relax and just have fun getting to know each other. There were a lot more people cruising without their kids than you’d expect.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Tiana’s restaurant without Tiana! She walked through the restaurant stopping at each table to chat and take pictures. Not only that, she was also part of the live entertainment and hopped onstage to perform a few numbers alongside Louis The Alligator.

Dinner was absolutely delicious! I started with the ahi tuna tartare appetizer…

and ordered the sea bass over shrimp jambalaya for my entree.

Since we were in New Orleans (sort of), I had to order the beignets for dessert. I usually just eat plain beignets but these came with a side of chocolate sauce. It would have been rude of me to waste it, right? These were melt in your mouth good and I would have ordered them every night if I could have!

You can't leave Tiana's Place without trying the beignets

We all ordered something different for dessert so that we could share. If you’re a chocolate lover, you’d definitely want to order the Chocolate Doberge Gateau!

The signature dessert at Tiana’s Place is this Southern Style Pecan Nut Tart.

If you feel like skipping the sugar, you can order this Lemon Raspberry Mousse Bombe. It was so good, you’d seriously never know it was sugar-free!

There’s pretty much something for everyone…this is not the place to skip dessert!

Day three of the Disney Social Media Mom’s Celebration was pretty awesome and our cruise was just getting started. I couldn’t wait to see what Disney had in store for us on day four!
