Yes, I’ve been playing with the candy melts again!  I seriously can’t get enough of them…they’re so much fun! Recently I was shopping and found myself face to face with a  super cute cupcake candy mold.  Somehow, I have a hard time staying focused when I’m in the baking aisle, much to the detriment of my wallet.  These were pretty inexpensive though so what could it hurt, right?

I’d been looking for a reason to break it out when we were invited to a neighbor’s holiday party.  Christmas candy cupcakes filled with even more candy seemed like a pretty good idea to me…and my four year old agreed wholeheartedly!

I had to experiment with my Christmas treats at first.  Originally I wanted sprinkles on top but mean ol’ Mr. Gravity kept pulling them down into a pile in the bottom of the mold.  I tried a few other things but I was running out of time so I ended up drizzling more candy melts over the top.

I was going to make a tutorial but it’s so easy, you don’t even need one.  Just pour the candy in the mold and refrigerate for about 20 minutes.  Drizzle candy melts over the top, refrigerate again, then fill with candy.  There’s nothing to it.

It worked out pretty well but I think next time I’d drizzle the candy melts right into the mold and pour the white candy melts over it.  Either way, I was pretty happy with how these turned out!

I love this cupcake mold and I’m already planning some fun Valentine’s Day treats.  You’d better stock up on pink candy melts before I hit the store!
