Want to check out the latest new experiences in virtual reality? These days there are more than ever to choose from. Every member of the family can find something to love in the Intel True VR app and you may just have to arm wrestle for the Gear VR. Find out about the newest games, visuals and a little something extra special for baseball fans.
If you’re from a baseball town like I am, baseball is a pretty big deal. There was even a time when I could tell you the names of all the Braves players, though these days I’m so busy that I can barely remember my own kid’s names at times. Since my hubby loves all things sports, he’s a bigger fan than I am and loves to keep up with the latest action.
That’s why the new MLB feature from the Intel True VR app is so cool. During baseball season, it lets you stream MLB action live every Tuesday with the Gear VR headset. All you have to do is download the app and you’re ready to play ball.
You’ll get the best seat in the house and be in the middle of all the action. I love how realistic the views are and it definitely beats watching on regular TV! Intel VR production specialists use both Intel True VR camera pods and 3rd party cameras to make this experience as realistic as possible. Here’s the view up close and personal.
Getting set up is easy. You’ll just use your Samsung phone to download the Intel True VR app.
First, set up the Gear VR by installing Oculus.
It’s easy to sign in through your Facebook account.
Next you’ll be asked to enter a payment method. If you’d rather not, just say that you don’t have one.

Type Intel True VR in the search bar.
Connect your phone to the Gear VR.
Once you attach your phone to the Gear VR headset, you’re ready to go. I love that you don’t have to worry about charging it. It gets it’s charge from your phone so as long as your phone has enough battery power, you can use the Gear VR as long as you want. I have so many things in my house that need constant charging that it’s nice not to have to worry about this.
New Experiences In Virtual Reality
From the moment I stepped into VR, it felt like you’re in an entirely different world! I could actually spin in a complete circle and see everything around me (this is where my swivel chair came in handy).
A tutorial helps you navigate or you can just do it my way and figure it out as you go. It’s simple to use. Just aim the controller at what you want to see and it’ll take you there.
It was so cool being able to turn 360° and seeing something new in every direction.
There’s so much that you can do with this! You can fly a fighter jet from the pilot’s seat, see incredible 360° photos from around the world and even check out up and coming events. I’m definitely taking a front seat for both Fashion Week, since it’s the closest I’ll ever actually get to going.
As I looked around a little more, I stumbled across a little magic! My girls are going to love this!
I got hooked on this next game before I could even show it to my girls. Who would have thought fishing could be so much fun! No wonder Bait is one of the more popular games!
I caught one! The thing that makes this technology so different is that the “screen” is all around me. The tree to the right of me was filled with colorful birds watching me fish.
We may have to arm wrestle for the Gear VR because the app has something for every member of the family. My hubby is going to like the live MLB games the most (at least until the football starts) so I decided to have a little fun with it.
Time For A Baseball Party
I put together a fun baseball viewing party, starting with these yummy cookies. I’ll jump at any excuse to make cookies! (Check the blog later in the week for the recipe.)
Nothing says baseball like hot dogs and peanuts? I added fun decor and we were ready for some baseball!
We’re pretty excited about all the new things we can do with the Intel True VR app and I can’t wait to get back to my fishing game! What part of it do you think your family would love most?
