If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you probably know all about my hot guy Fantasy Football team (if not, you can check out How To Create The Perfect Fantasy Football Team and part 2, How NOT To Create The Perfect Fantasy Football Team). Basically, I’ve joined a Fantasy Football team for the first time ever and in order to keep it interesting week after week, I’ve picked all the hottest guys in football (hottest as in looks of course, not stats).
Just to give you something nice to look at, let me present you with my #1 hottie draft pick…the hottest of the hotties, Eric Decker:
If anyone doubts the method to my madness, just take one look at him and you’ll understand!
Anyway, the guy at Yahoo in charge of ranking teams (a.k.a. Report Card Guy) didn’t think too highly of my choices but what does he know? I’m out to prove him and any other doubters 100% wrong! Want to know how I did? Well, the results are in for week #1:
Thursday got off to a rocky start. My opponent and I each had one guy playing. Mine was Danny Amendola and hers was Tom Brady…not exactly an even match-up. Brady obviously had something to prove, being a cheater and all, so he pretty much killed it by scoring a massive 38.50 (the most of any of the QB’s in my league)! Okay Tom, we get it already..you can throw a ball! By the end of the night, my 2.4 points were looking kind of sad and I definitely had some catching up to do.
Friday and Saturday went by SO slowly because I couldn’t wait to see what would happen on Sunday! Sunday came and I was all ready for Eric Decker to wow me! I turned on the TV and looked for the Jets game on all 7,342 channels that we receive…even the Spanish channels (good looks transcend all language barriers). I couldn’t find it anywhere so I went to the source of all knowledge…Facebook. It was here that I found out the tragic news that not all games are televised. For the first time in a long time I actually really wanted to watch an NFL game and now I couldn’t. I seriously need to consider upgrading our cable plan.
Anyway, my team was predicted to score 86 points total for the week and by the end of Saturday night, I had 111…woohoo! My opponent had 116 so I was only 5 points away from her. This was much closer than expected and it all came down to Monday Night Football. We each had two people playing. Mine guys were Reggie Bush and Mike Wallace and hers were Adrian Peterson and Anquan Boldin. I’ve actually heard of Reggie Bush before so he must be really good, right?
Imagine my horror when Reggie Bush got injured and was out in the first quarter…c’mon Reggie, seriously??? Do you not know how important you are to my game right now? Now I was down to one guy and Adrian Peterson kept annoying me by scoring points for my opponent. I really don’t like that guy! I have to admit that eventually I just got tired and went to bed (it was a 10:20 game).
I woke up the next morning and reluctantly checked the score…yup, I lost! However, it’s not all bad. The score was 118.35 – 125.40 so it was not a complete blowout. It wasn’t even close to a blowout! I had been predicted to lose by about 40 points so this was almost like winning (well, not QUITE as good). I’m really proud of my hot guys though! They didn’t let me down…much!
The better news is that next week’s Jets game is going to be on Monday night football so I can actually watch Eric Decker play this time. It’s just too bad that helmet hides his pretty face!!!
Do you play Fantasy Football? How did your first week go? Did you blow your opponents out of the water or sink like a brick?
