It’s time to check out this week’s Friday Favorites! Find out about a great new website, the awesome-ness of levitating speakers and why we love grandparents so much!

Is it really almost Christmas? The girls are pretty excited and can’t wait to see what Santa brings. Elfy has been having a lot of fun going back and forth, letting Santa know of every new request. He’s even done a little decorating for us!
We’re going to miss that little guy when he goes back to the North Pole. Anyway, keep reading to find out what my favorite things are this week!
The people at Hizzy reached out to me recently and invited me to visit their site. It was described as an online community where homeowners share their stories. I love the HGTV shows on renovating houses and buying vacations homes, my hubby’s hobby/obsession is looking at real estate online and even my 9 year old could watch House Hunters International for hours on end, so it seemed like something I should at least check out.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be a really fun site! If you like home tours as much as I do, you’ll love articles like the one featuring the home of L.A. furniture designer Chris Earl. I love how bright and airy his home is and the decor was beautiful. The originality of this plant wall is also pretty cool and I think I need one now…though with my black thumb, it may not be such a good idea. How cool would this be though?
I also found great articles on how to be the perfect host when you have houseguests, tips from experienced homeowners and how to take “homies” (a.k.a. selfies of your home). This site has lots of good reads! You can also create a free account and add your own stories. If you’ve recently remodeled, have beautiful holiday decor or just have great advice to other homeowners, this is a great place to share. I may even hop on and share some of my own home renovation stories soon.
How did moms ever buy Christmas gifts for their children before Amazon came along? My girls are always with me and it’s nearly impossible. The other day I had to go to Target for something that wasn’t available online and I felt like I was on a top secret decoy mission! I had to find a big storage container and distract the girls while I hid the gift inside. Then I made them hang out in the greeting card section when it was time to check out and had the clerk triple bag it to make it harder to see the shape inside the bag. They never found out what was inside though. It’s good to know that I’d make a great spy if this blogging thing doesn’t work out.
Thank goodness almost everything else on earth is available on Amazon! I even ordered a last minute gift on the 21st and my 2 day Prime delivery will get it here in time for Christmas. How could I NOT put Amazon on my favorites list, after they’ve made my life so much easier?!
I’ve been obsessed with candy melts for awhile now. There’s so much that you can do with them and they make every dessert more colorful. My latest creations were these Christmas Candy Cupcakes. I actually made them for a party but the party date changed last minute so we included them with our teacher gifts instead.
Levitating Blue Tooth Speaker
I seriously want this speaker! The problem is that I already have three blue tooth speakers, two small ones and a large one that didn’t come cheap. They’re really good speakers but nothing like this. What is it about this speaker that makes it the coolest one ever? Umm…do you see it levitating??? I’m easily entertained I guess but the idea of a levitating speaker just fascinates me. Do you think my hubby will believe me if I tell him that I lost all three of my other speakers? I’d have to replace them of course…
I’m not sure my kids realize how lucky they are. Grandma and Grandpa have come to town and they’re carrying more gifts than Santa could ever fit on his sleigh! Not only that, they’re going out and about to movies, kids museums and any other fun thing they can think of. That’s not even the best part. The best part is…my hubby and I get to go out! Babysitters are way too expensive so I usually just wait until my parents come to town. Remember this commercial?
Yep, that’s me and my husband! I’ve got a list of movies I want to see and hubby has a list of beers he wants to drink. It’s going to be fun, though we’re not actually jetting off anywhere…this time…
Happy Holidays to all of you and I’ll see you next week!
