Want some fun Halloween recipes for the kids? They're going to love these easy Halloween treats! #ad

I love this time of year!  There are so many fun holidays to look forward to and it all kicks off with Halloween!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  How can you not love it when you get to dress up and people give you candy?

It’s not all about the candy though.  There are tons of fun Halloween recipes that you can make, starting with these cute mummy dogs.  They’re a triple whammy…kids love hot dogs already, they’re cute and most importantly, they’re easy!  I really wanted to make these Mummy Dogs with the kiddos and I thought it would be fun to add a little twist.  We decided that our mummy dog needed a pet…he needed his own mummy dog!

When I said easy, I wasn’t kidding.  You just need three ingredients…

Start by opening and unrolling your Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.  You will have four rectangles.  Take a pizza cutter (or a knife) and cut 10 strips lengthwise.

If you really want to make it simple, you can wrap the hot dog whole.  I wanted ours to have arms and legs so I just made a few well-placed slits and he was ready to be wrapped.  If you’re using cheese, put it underneath your mummy and wrap the crescent strips around both the cheese and the mummy.  My girls decided they wanted theirs without so we skipped that step.  Wrap your hot dogs in the crescent strips, making sure to leave room for the face.

Now it’s time for your mummy’s dog…even a mummy needs a best friend.  First, cut about an inch off each end.  Leave one of the small pieces as is and cut the other into fourths.

Break some toothpicks in half to attach them, then wrap away.

Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.  Give your mummy some mustard eyes and eat up!

That was pretty fun but we couldn’t stop there!  You can’t have Halloween without sweets and we had witch hats on the menu.  This was another super easy recipe with just three ingredients, crescent rolls, chocolate chips and powdered sugar.  It already sounds good, doesn’t it?

This time you’ll need to separate the individual triangles and place chocolate chips along the bottom (after a quick taste test, these passed inspection).

Flip the top section down over the chips.  Your pointy top will be facing down (I just flipped the plate for the picture)

Bake at 375° for 9-11 minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.  You can also choose to add icing or sprinkles…whatever makes the kids happy, right?  I can tell you that these hats made us all very happy!

I’ve always been a fan of mulled cider on Halloween night … at least until I moved back to Southern California. At this rate I may be passing out Gatorade and popsicles instead of candy!
And those mummy dogs, man, those are brilliant!

My favorite Halloween treat is Candy Corn mixed in with kettle corn :)!

My favorite Halloween activity is trick or treating with my kids!

My favorite Halloween treat is Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins!

I like to dress up for Halloween even if I’m staying home. I dress up to get into the spirit and it can sometimes surprise people when they come up to the door to get candy for trick or treating.

Trick or treat.

My favorite Halloween activity is going trick-or-treating!
