Have you ever seen gold foil Easter eggs and thought they would just be to tricky to make? I did and boy, was I ever wrong. These are so easy and I don’t know why I didn’t make them sooner. I featured these recently when I was a guest on Sarasota’s Suncoast View and now you can make your own! Gold foil Easter eggs look amazing as part of an Easter tree, your Easter brunch tablescape or just as part of your everyday Easter decor.

I love that you don’t even need a lot of supplies. Here’s what you’ll need:

Colored eggs

Gold flakes

Gold leaf adhesive

Paintbrush

How To Make Gold Foil Easter Eggs

Start by coloring your eggs, then gathering the rest of your supplies. You may also want to find something that you can prop the egg on (I just used a roll of washi tape).

Dab glue in little spots around the egg, a few at a time. Place foil over the glue. Here’s a word of warning…you don’t want to get this glue on your fingers because it’s VERY sticky and takes about 100 hand washes to get off. Okay, maybe it wasn’t 100 but it sure felt that way! I could have read the direction ahead of time and would have seen that it said to avoid contact with skin…oops!

Cover your egg in gold flakes, using as many or few as you want, then set aside to dry for a couple hours. You will still have some gold that isn’t completely stuck to the egg. Once dry, take a clean paintbrush and brush over the gold to remove loose pieces.

That’s all there is to it! The great thing about these is that there’s no right or wrong way to make them…they’re going to turn out perfect whatever you do! Now you have beautiful Easter eggs and everyone will think you worked really hard to make them. Don’t worry, I won’t tell!

I absolutely love these eggs but probably wouldn’t make them with the kids. The kids will love these ideas though!
