I think it’s a given that kids love pizza! What my kids love even more is making their own pizza! The best part is that it’s a super easy meal because once I gather a few ingredients, they do all the work! If you’re tired and don’t really feel like cooking, this is the perfect meal. I also like that it’s inexpensive since I’ve been going horribly over budget on my meal planning! Since we’ve had a lot of rainy days lately, this was the perfect activity to liven things up a little. Here’s all you need to do…
First, you just need a few simple ingredients on hand:
Crust – we use Arnolds sandwich thins but you could also use English muffins or even tortillas for a thin crust pizza (though you have to be careful not to pile too many ingredients on the tortilla) Pasta Sauce – I’m not a fancy mom that makes hers from scratch…they just use Ragu (or whatever was on sale that week) Shredded Mozzarella (otherwise known as “sprinkle cheese” in my house) Toppings – This time my girls wanted pepperoni and mushrooms, which surprised me because they’d never asked for mushrooms before. Of course, in true kid fashion, they picked all the mushrooms off at the end (but that’s okay because it was a nice little snack for mommy) All you really have to do is set out the ingredients and let the kids do their thing.
Now comes the fun part…time to eat it!!!
