Things to Do In Disney Springs

Have you been to the new Disney Springs yet? If not, here's why you're going to love it!

My family loves Disney World (doesn't everyone?) and we visit any chance we get!  Of course we spend most of our days at the parks but we also try to make it to Disney Springs whenever we're in town, especially now that it's been totally redone.

Don't get me wrong, my husband and I always enjoyed Downtown Disney.  Way back in the day, when we were just dating, we took a trip to Orlando and danced the night away in the disco bar.  It was so much fun!  We were young and carefree and the thought of kids hadn't even crossed our mind yet.  However now we're older (and wiser?) and we have kids now.  It probably wouldn't be the best idea to bring them to a late night dance club, even though I'm pretty sure little Keira would outlast us all!

Over the years, Downtown Disney has gone through some changes and after a big renovation, it recently became Disney Springs.  When we finally got to see the new look, we absolutely loved it.  First of all, they've really gone out of their way to make it pretty!  The name matches it perfectly and there are flowing streams, waterways and footbridges throughout.

The great thing about Disney Springs is that there's something for everyone!  My girls wanted to play all day with the LEGOs in the huge LEGO store!  We ran out of time to do anything else so I'll have to bring them back to have lunch at the T-REX restaurant, play interactive games at Disney Quest and get in a family game of bowling at Splitsville (like we need an excuse to come back)!

When you get hungry, your biggest obstacle might be narrowing down where you want to eat!  There are so many awesome choices that it makes it hard to decide.  We had an amazing dinner at Chef Art Smith's Homecoming but if you bring the kids, make sure you get to the Mac & Cheese before they do!

Just a few weeks ago, I met up with my friend Hannah from Eat, Drink and Save Money to attend FlBlogCon.  Since it's rare that we can both get away kid free, we decided to go a day early and have some fun in Disney Springs.  We wanted to start with a drink (shocker) and where better to have a drink than on the water?  The Boathouse Restaurant has a beautiful view so we popped in to check it out.

Not a bad place for a drink, right?  Imagine our surprise when we saw this drive by!

I was enjoying the mommy time but I sure wished my girls could have seen this.  They'd be begging for a ride in this Amphicar and I'll definitely have to add it to our to-do list.  After our drinks, we wandered around a little more and checked out light sabers in the Star Wars Galactic Outpost.

I was pretty excited to see the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM and couldn't pass by without checking it out!  Can I get a debit card for this thing?

Later that night, we ate at another one of my favorite restaurants, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant.  The traditional Celtic food was delicious and we loved the live entertainment.  When I come with the family, this place is always a hit.  Hubby really enjoys the food and my girls could watch the Irish dancing all night...everyone's happy!

The new Disney Springs is so big that it's been divided it into four parts to make it easier to find your way around.

Town Center:

This is where you'll want to go if you love to shop!  You'll find kate spade new york, Vince Camuto, Anthropologie and plenty of other high end shops.  This is also where you'll find Chef Art Smith's Homecoming as well as Frontera Cocina and other great restaurants.

The Landing:

I'm going to have to up my game and hit Orlando more often if I want to eat at all these places...and I do!  This is where we had drinks at the Boathouse but I also want to try the Pan-Asian cuisine at Morimoto Asia and treat my hubby to a juicy steak at STK Orlando.  Somehow I missed Vivoli Gelateria, still not sure how that happened, but I'm going to make a point to find it next time!

The Marketplace:

If you don't want to spend precious ride time at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique in the Magic Kingdom, take your little ones here to get all dolled up!  We haven't done that yet and my girls won't let me forget it. Looks like I'd better add that to the list too...it's growing longer by the minute!  If you love Disney Stores, you'll definitely want to hit the newly re-designed World Of Disney Store.  I could spend hours wandering around in there, with or without the kids!

The West Side:

This is the place to go if you're looking for some fun!  We've been waiting for Keira to get old enough for Cirque Du Soleil and now that she's inching towards 5 year old, I think she's ready.  I love Cirque Du Soleil and if you've never been, this would be the perfect chance.  This is also where you can to ride in the balloon, bowl at Splitsville or eat at the fun food trucks.

We loved all the changes at Disney Springs and can't wait to go back again...and again...and again!  There's so much to do that I'm not even sure how many times we'll have to visit to do them all.  I guess we'll find out eventually, right?

I had so much fun checking out Disney Springs with you! Thanks for showing me around!

We’ve always loved Downtown Disney and have yet to make it there to see Disney Springs! It looks so fun… but my understanding had been that Disney Quest was no longer there and my boys were so bummed. I noticed you mentioned it on this page though so does that mean it’s still there?! I have three boys and honestly a day at Disney Quest when we arrive is one of their favorite things about our trips. Dinner at T-Rex was quite an experience!!
