You’re doing a great job of promoting your blog online but these are some great ways you can promote your blog offline too
I received car magnets from Super Cheap Signs in exchange for this review. However, all opinions are my own.
When you’re a blogger, you’re always looking for new ways to promote your blog and bring in traffic. Of course there are the traditional methods of online promotion like social media and link parties, but sometimes it’s good to think outside of the box a little. You may not have even thought about promoting your blog off-line but most of these are so easy that they involve very little work. Once you’re set up, you barely even have to think about it again.
This is my favorite way to advertise. When I started my blog, one of the first things I did was buy car magnets. They’re an inexpensive way to advertise, especially compared to traditional advertising. Even Ruth Soukup recommends it in her EBA class. Once you buy your magnets, you just put them on your car and forget about them. Mine usually last for about 9-10 months but that’s because they fade fast in the harsh Florida sun. If you live further north, yours might last a bit longer.
I hadn’t ordered from Super Cheap Signs before but thought I’d give them a try. My magnets were so faded that it was seriously embarrassing and they needed to be replaced! I liked that the magnets at Super Cheap Signs were a little longer than the ones offered by other companies (that means bigger print that’s easier to see from afar). Placing my order was easy too. After using PicMonkey to create my template, I easily uploaded it to the Super Cheap Signs site and about a week later I had my magnets.
I’ve been really happy with the quality. The colors are crisp and the magnets adhere really well. I love the way they stand out and it’s definitely an attention grabber because people ask me about them all the time. If you’re thinking of ordering some for yourself, I’d definitely recommend Super Cheap Signs. Place an order of $99 or more through September 30th and you can use the code FunMoney10 to take $10 off your order.
Why not have t-shirts printed with your logo? Even better, make them for your friends and family too! Everybody loves free t-shirts and they’ll be promoting your blog every time they wear them. How many times have you noticed logos on other people’s shirts? If you’re noticing what they’re wearing, odds are that your shirt will get noticed too.
My old hair salon had a spot by the register where clients could leave their business cards for others to check out. I refreshed my stack a couple times which is definitely a good sign, right? Look for places that do that and leave a stack behind. You need business cards anyway…after all, your blog is your business, right?
I hadn’t even thought of this until a friend asked me about it. When I first ordered car magnets, I threw in a bumper sticker just for fun. I’m not big on bumper stickers but hey, if it gets my blog noticed, I’ll stick one on my car. Soon after, a friend of mine saw it and asked if she could have one too. I hadn’t even thought to order extras and I certainly wouldn’t have ever asked my friends to put them on their cars. However, if she’s volunteering, I’m all for it. In fact, don’t tell my hubby but I think I’ll put one on his car. Let me know if you want one too!
This one requires slightly more work than the other four but it’s still worth doing. Find out if there are local papers that accept outside contributors and if so, this is one more way to get your name out there. People can get a feel for what you’re all about when they read your article and if they like what they read, they’ll want to check out your blog too. Just be sure to include your blog info in your bio so they know where to find you.
There’s no such thing as too much publicity right? Have you tried any of these things? Let me know if you have any great ideas that I haven’t thought of.
