Why We Love This Recipe
Easy and Inexpensive – This red, white and blue patriotic punch recipe lets you serve a crowd without breaking the bank. With just four simple ingredients that can be found at any grocery store, this festive drink is an easy to make and budget friendly addition to your party menu.
Make it by the Glass – This kid-friendly treat is one of the best Fourth of July drinks for parties, but since you can make it in individual glasses, it’s also easy to enjoy for just a small gathering, a fun family dessert, or a solo treat.
It’s Cool and Refreshing – Any drink with a scoop of frozen sorbet in it makes the perfect refreshing treat for the hot summer months. Not only does it taste great, but it stays cool as the sorbet melts into the fruit punch.
Ingredients
- Red, white, and blue sorbet – Keeps your punch cool and gives it a delicious, creamy texture similar to an ice cream float.
- Hawaiian Punch fruit juicy red or berry blue typhoon, chilled – Gives the punch its vibrant, fun colors!
- Sprite – Adds a little bit of citrus flavor with a fun bubbly touch.
Substitutions
- If you can’t find sorbet with these colors, you can substitute vanilla ice cream or a combination of vanilla ice cream and red sorbet.
- We used Sprite but you can also make this recipe with Ginger Ale.
- If you can’t find the patriotic red or blue punch in stores, you can use any red or blue fruit juice.
How to Make 4th of July Punch
Step 1: Pour the Hawaiian Punch, then Sprite, into your favorite glass. (We used wine glasses but mason jars are fun too).
Step 2: Add 2 scoops of the sorbet or ice cream.
Step 3: Add some red, white, and blue straws and enjoy!
Tips & Tricks
- You can also make this in a punch bowl or a large pitcher rather than by the glass. Just combine the Sprite and blue Hawaiian Punch in the bowl, then add scoops of vanilla ice cream and raspberry or strawberry sorbet.
- To keep your punch cold longer, you can place your bowl on a metal tray and surround it with ice cubes.
- Want a white version of the punch to go with your fun red and blue colors? Use a clear drink like white cranberry juice in place of the Hawaiian punch. Then add the Sprite and vanilla ice cream like normal.
- For adult version, you can turn this party punch into an alcoholic drink by stirring in 2oz. of light rum or vodka before adding the sorbet. These layered 4th Of July Jello Shots are always a huge hit too!
- This easy punch recipe is even prettier with a fun garnish. Cut slits into strawberries and slide them onto the rims of the glasses. Then add a blueberry or two to each, attaching them with little flag toothpicks. You can also use star shaped cookie cutters and cut mini watermelon stars to use as garnish.
This is the perfect party drink for a crowd. When trying to determine how much to make, you should estimate about 1 gallon for every ten party guests.
