I received complimentary products in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I’ve done Christmas cards for as long as I can remember but last year I skipped it. Things were just so busy that I never got around to it. I totally regretted it afterwards and decided that I wasn’t going to make that same mistake again. I was going to use Minted.com to send out O’Driscoll family Christmas cards.
Earlier in the month I’d seen matching pajama sets from Pajamagram and just had to have them! How cute would it be if we all dressed up in matching pajamas for our family photo?! I wondered if my hubby would go for it but he’s become a great blogger husband and pretty much just goes along with anything these days. The girls were totally in too…they were excited to have new Christmas pajamas! This was going to be such a fun Christmas card and we may have just started a new family tradition!
The hard part was deciding which ones to get but the plaid pajamas were my favorites. I narrowed it down to the Stewart Plaid Flannel and the Fireside Plaid Fleece, then let the family make the final decision.
It was unanimous. Everybody loved the deer on the Fireside Plaid pajamas and we had our winner. When they arrived the first thing we noticed was how soft they were…the girls couldn’t stop touching them. They’re also very cozy and perfect for lounging on the couch while binge watching your favorite shows, or for my northern peeps, curling up in front of the fire.
The problem was that we almost ran out of time again this year! I was traveling for much of November and when I finally got back, my hubby’s schedule was crazy. He was working non-stop so the pictures I’d planned with Santa never happened. I had another idea though. Since we were visiting my cousin and his family for Thanksgiving, I’d bring the pajamas along and have someone take our Christmas pictures there.
We went with a “Christmas In Florida” theme and took our pictures lounging in pool chairs. As soon as we got back home, I went straight to Minted.com to create our cards. I love getting my cards from Minted because they have a huge selection to choose from and I’m able to personalize them however I want.
While some years I do an entire collage, this year I wanted to use just the pajama picture for the front. I went with the Simple Elegance design and chose red to match our jammies. For the back, I upgraded to the striped pattern with an additional picture. We’d just met the Grinch the week before so I wanted to include that picture too.
I don’t know about you but my least favorite thing about sending cards is addressing them. Whoever thought up the idea of having Minted address the envelopes for me is my new best friend! Of course, I had to type the info in the computer but it was MUCH faster than doing them all by hand. You can also upload your contacts directly if you already have them in your computer.
Not only that, they’ll add your return address too!
The great thing about Minted is that their cards fit every budget. I usually go for the basic cards because I have to save my money for toys! Even with the less expensive versions, you get a beautiful card. However, if you really want to get fancy (and outdo everybody else), you can choose different shapes, flat or folding cards and even the lettering that you add. There’s a foil pressed option too, if you really want to make your cards stand out.
While I love Minted for their cards, they also have beautiful home decor, art, stationary and more. If you’re looking for a great teacher gift, personalized stationary was always one of my favorites gifts when I taught Kindergarten. As much as the thought really does count, there’s no teacher that can possibly use all the lotion and candles that we’ve been given. I seriously loved it when my students gave me pretty stationary with my name or initials.
That’s not what I had my eye on though. We bought a white Christmas tree two years ago and gave it a coastal theme but I never had a decent skirt to go with it. This Snow Covered Woods Tree Skirt is perfect and the bonus is that it’s reversible so I can use it with our other Christmas trees too!
I’m so glad that we did holiday cards again this year and that Minted made it all so easy. They arrived quickly too so if you haven’t done yours yet, there’s still time! Maybe you can even order some matching jammies too. I definitely think they made our cards more fun and that’s going to be our new Christmas tradition. Do you have a fun Christmas card tradition of your own?
