Living in Florida is pretty awesome! We’ve got the beach, warm weather and of course, all our favorite theme parks. Plus, we’re lucky enough to have Fresh From Florida produce. I can’t get enough of fresh fruits and vegetables and Florida farmers give us fresh produce to choose from all year round.

I always try to buy my fruits and vegetables in season. Not only is that when they’re most fresh but it’s when you’ll find the best prices too. Like most moms, I’m always trying to save a little money when I can. Buying in season is a super easy way to do it.

Fresh From Florida Strawberries

Right now we’re all about the strawberries. I’m always so happy when they’re in season because it’s one of those foods my whole family is crazy about. Strawberries work for every occasion…breakfasts, snacks, lunch boxes and especially desserts!  Since I’d just picked up a bunch of Fresh From Florida strawberries from Publix, I thought I’d try making a Strawberry Pie! Sounds delish, right?

Strawberry Pie

I know if I see the Fresh From Florida label, it’s going to be good! I look for it on all my produce and even seafood too.

Start by mashing two cups of strawberries. If you really want to make it easy, just puree them in the blender or food processor.

Mix the puree with the water, sugar and corn starch and bring to a boil in a saucepan. Boil 3-4 minutes, until your mixture thickens.

Pour over the remaining strawberries and mix well.

Spoon into your pie crust and spread evenly. You can make your own homemade pie crust or buy one already made (which is what I did this time).

Cover your strawberry pie and refrigerate at least two hours.

Once refrigerated, your strawberry pie is almost ready to serve.

Now you just need to add a little whipped cream and you have one of the best desserts ever! This strawberry pie tastes SO good and since there aren’t a lot of extra ingredients, you get nothing but the sweet taste of  strawberries in every bite!

My favorite thing about this strawberry pie recipe is just how easy it is to make (though everyone will think you spend a lot of time on it). It’s perfect for parties, holiday desserts or pretty much any other occasion!
