Have you heard about The Great LEGO Race at LEGOLAND Florida Resort? This new Virtual Reality Roller Coaster uses the latest in technology to give you an experience that you won’t forget! Find out why my girls gave it two big thumbs up!
LEGOLAND Florida Resort provided us with tickets to the theme park in exchange for this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
My girls and I were so excited to be invited to LEGOLAND Florida Resortfor the Grand Opening of The Great LEGO Race Roller Coaster. My six year old is just old enough to ride this new attraction and we all thought the idea of a virtual reality roller coaster sounded pretty cool. Plus, the VR goggles made us all look like LEGO people. We couldn’t wait to check it out!
In The Great Lego Race, you experience the coaster from the point of view of a race car driver racing against pirates, wizards, surfer girls and more. We dodged various obstacles as we made our way through the desert, over mountains and even avoiding volcanoes along the way.
The action takes place in 360 degrees. We thought it was pretty cool to be able to look all around us and still be part of the scene.
It was such a cool experience because the car moves in sync with the VR race. As we turned corners in our race car, the coaster sped around corners at the same time. There’s no cooler feeling than racing downhill on a roller coaster with VR glasses that have you speeding down a mountain! As soon as it was over, both of my girls wanted to ride it all over again! It got a big double thumbs up!
While this attraction was worth the trip alone, that’s not all LEGOLAND has to offer! If your family loves Star Wars as much as us, you won’t want to miss the upcoming Star Wars events. On May 4th you can celebrate the opening of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Miniland Model Display. This display uses thousands of LEGO bricks to recreate some of the best scenes from Episode VII using lights, animation and sound effects. We already love the Miniland Model and can’t wait to check out this new addition!
You also won’t want to miss LEGO Star Wars Days. Head to LEGOLAND May 5-6, 12-13, 19-20 for character meet and greets, Star Wars building activities and more.
If you visit LEGOLAND on July 4th, you can celebrate with fireworks and a giant U.S. flag made from thousands of LEGO bricks! Check out the LEGOLAND Florida Resort website to see what other events are happening through the rest of the year.
