Instructions

  • Bake a banana cake from box mix or make your own from scratch. Cool completely.
  • For the frosting, combine butter, powdered sugar, milk (or cream) and vanilla in a large bowl. Mix with stand mixer or hand mixer until well combined.
  • Once cake has cooled, crumble it over the frosting and use your hands or a low mixer speed to combine the two.
  • Form cake mixture into balls about a tablespoon in size and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Melt white chocolate or candy melts in a bowl. If the chocolate it too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil to get a smoother consistency.
  • Place a cake ball in the melted chocolate and roll in the chocolate until evenly coated. Transfer the chocolate covered cake ball back to the parchment paper.
  • Melt a half cup each of blue and red candy melts. Drizzle them over the top of the cake balls. Top with sprinkles and candy stars.

If you don't have candy melts, you could also use 2 (4 oz) white chocolate bars or white chocolate chips instead. Set some aside to color with red and blue food coloring to drizzle over the top.
