Pour the brownie mix into a large, microwave-safe bowl.. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each. Do this process for about 1 ½ minutes or until the temperature of the brownie batter mixture is 160 degrees. (You can use an instant-read thermometer to check the temp)
19 ounces brownie mix
Next, add corn syrup, chocolate syrup and water. Stir until lumps are gone and better is smooth.
Scoop out 1 tablespoon of the brownie mixture and roll it between the palms of your hands to form a ball. (Dampen your hands first to keep the dough from sticking to them).
Once you’ve formed your ball, roll it in the sprinkles until completely covered, then place on a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining batter.
1 cup Valentine's Day sprinkles
Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and let the truffles chill for one hour before eating.
Notes
When creating a recipe with raw flour, it's important to heat it in the microwave just in case there's any bacteria. We choose to do this with the brownie mix too, just to be safe.
Want to freeze these for later? Just place them on a baking sheet and freeze for about 2-3 hours. Once frozen through, transfer the truffles in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. They should stay good for up to three months.
