Ingredients

Instructions

  • Add sugar, cold water and lemon juice to a small or medium saucepan.
1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add your favorite berries and let boil for about 5 minutes. For a thicker syrup, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with just enough cold water for it to dissolve (about two tablespoons), then stir into the mixture as soon as berries begin to soften.
1 cup berries, 1 tsp corn starch
  • Allow the warm fruity syrup time to cool for a little bit before serving.

Notes

To save your syrup for later, place it in an airtight container then store for up to a week in the refrigerator or up to three months in the freezer.
