Take 6 Oreos sandwich cookies and separate the cookies from the cream. Place the cream in a small bowl and set it to the side.
12 Oreo cookies
Put 8 of the individual cookies in a zip lock, seal it. Break them into small pieces. Make sure the pieces are small enough to fit through the piping bag, but not so small that you’ve crushed them into dust.
Take the remaining Oreo cookies and break them into bigger chunky triangle pieces. Save these to make the owl beaks later.
In a large bowl, whip your room temperature butter with your electric mixture on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes or until it’s light and fluffy.
8 Tbsp unsalted butter
Next, add the cream from the Oreos, the vanilla extract, salt and powdered sugar. Mix the ingredients together on slow speed until smooth.
12 Oreo cookies, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp salt, 2 cups powdered sugar
Add the heavy whipping cream to the frosting mixture along with about 3 drops of white Food Gel Color. Continue to mix until everything is well combined and has a smooth frosting texture.
2 Tbsp heavy whipping cream, white food gel color
Using a kitchen spatula, fold the tiny Oreos pieces into the frosting, making sure not to fold too much. You want to see speck of the cookies but you want the frosting to keep it’s white color (just like Hedwig in the movies).
Fill your piping bag with the frosting, securing the end. Use scissors to cut an opening on the front end of the piping bag.
Place the cupcakes on a flat surface.
Lightly squeeze your piping bag and move counterclockwise around the edges of the cupcake.
Continue to do this around the cupcake moving up a layer as you go until you reach a peak. Place the cupcakes in the fridge to firm up.
Once the frosting has chilled, add the yellow candy eyes to the top of the cupcake.

Use your bigger triangle Oreo pieces to make a beak for the owls.
