About

Discover the story behind Fun Money Mom! From kindergarten teacher to full-time blogger, Lisa O’Driscoll shares easy recipes, crafts, printables, and family-friendly ideas to make every day more fun.

Hi! I’m Lisa and I’m so glad you’re here! My goal is to help make your life a little easier, more fun and of course, more delicious!

The Story Behind The Blog

I wasn’t always “Fun Money Mom.” For 14 years, I was “Mrs. O’Driscoll”, a Kindergarten teacher living in the Atlanta suburbs. Then one day, my hubby and I decided to pack up the kids and trade cold, big-city living for palm trees, beaches and theme parks.

Yup – we took off and moved to sunny Florida!🌴

The Plan That Didn’t Go According To Plan

The plan was simple: I’d take two years off, then go back to teaching once my youngest started school. But… things don’t always go according to plan, right?

Suddenly, I had more free time than I’d ever had before. One night (there may have been a little wine involved 🍷), I was scrolling through shopping blogs and thought, why not start one of my own?

The Evolution Of Fun Money Mom

The irony was that I no longer had the “fun money” to shop like I used to! My fancy shoes and designer jeans had already been swapped for flip-flops and shorts. Clearly, I hadn’t thought this through!

But that’s how Fun Money Mom slowly evolved into what it is today…a place for easy recipes, holiday fun, crafts, printables and more. I may have lost the “fun money” for awhile but I definitely kept all the fun!

Where I Am Now

What started as a fun little hobby has turned into something I never could’ve imagined! These days, I get to share my favorite recipes, crafts, and family-friendly ideas with readers all over the world, both here on the blog and on TV.

I’ve been lucky enough to appear regularly on Sarasota’s Suncoast View (and even fill in as co-host a few times!) and have also shared my ideas on Fox 13 Tampa Bay. You might’ve also spotted my projects on national sites like Oprah.com, Good Housekeeping, Country Living, and Parade, or in my children’s cookbook, Roll It, Slice It, Mash It, Dice It.

And since I’m always coming up with new ways to make life a little more fun, I started my FMM Printables shop on Etsy. It’s packed with holiday games, party bundles, and easy crafts that you can download and enjoy anytime!

It’s been such a fun journey, and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s followed along. Whether you’re here for an easy dinner idea, a holiday craft, or just a little creative inspiration, I hope you find something that makes your day a little brighter (and a lot more fun). 💕
