Prep your bananas first! Peel, slice, and freeze them on a parchment-lined baking sheet for several hours or overnight.
3 medium bananas
Add the milk, frozen banana slices, and ice cream to your blender.
1 cup vanilla bean ice cream, 1 cup whole milk, 3 medium bananas
Blend on the highest speed for at least 20–30 seconds, until the milkshake is a smooth, creamy consistency.
Pour into glasses and enjoy as is, or pile them high with toppings like sliced bananas, whipped cream or chocolate (or all three).
Notes
This recipe makes two large shakes or four small ones (you'll have approximately 4 cups after blending). The nutrition information is based on 2 servings.
Frozen bananas work best but you can use fresh bananas in a pinch. You'll just want to add a little more ice cream.
For a thicker shake, add more ice cream. For a thinner shake, add a little more milk.
