These colorful Christmas Donuts, decorated with vibrant red and green frosting and festive sprinkles, are as fun to make as they are to eat! Everyone will love waking up to these on Christmas morning!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Liberally spray your donut pan with non-stick cooking spray or grease it with butter.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
2 cups all purpose flour, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla bean paste.
1 large egg, 1 1/4 cup milk, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
Make a well in the dry ingredients in the large bowl and pour the egg mixture in. Stir well to fully combine all the ingredients.
Fill each cavity of the prepared donut pan 3/4 full with the batter. Place the donut pan in the oven and bake for 15–17 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when pushed.
Allow to cool in the pan for 5-7 minutes. Then place the donuts on a cooling rack to cool completely.
For The Frosting
Once the donuts are cool, make the frosting. In a medium bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, beat the butter and half of the powdered sugar together on high for about 3 minutes.
1/2 cup unsalted butter , 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Add the vanilla bean paste, the salt, and the remaining powdered sugar and continue beating until crumbly, about 2 minutes.
1 teaspoon vanilla bean bean paste, 1/4 teaspoon salt
While the beaters are on high, add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
2-3 tablespoons milk
Place 1/4 cup of the frosting in one bowl and add the red food coloring until you get your desired color.

Add assorted decorative sprinkles.

Use the red frosting and pipe a red “bow” to create perfect Christmas wreath donuts! Serve and enjoy immediately.
Notes
If you don't have vanilla paste, you can substitute vanilla extract instead. For the donut batter, you'll use two teaspoons. For the frosting, you'll want to use about 1 1/2 teaspoons and about a teaspoon or two less milk.
If you don't have a piping bag for the frosting, you can use a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off.
