This easy Banana Pudding Recipe is a mouthwatering version of everyone's favorite classic dessert. With layers of fresh bananas, creamy pudding and layers of vanilla wafers, it's as easy as it is delicious!
In a large bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix. Beat or whisk until well combined.
Set aside about 5 of the cookies for the top of the pudding. Place a layer of Nilla wafers across the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan or casserole dish.
Add a layer of bananas slices on top of the cookies.
Whisk in half of the Cool Whip and combine with the pudding mixture.
Pour half of the pudding mixture over the cookies and bananas. Smooth out as evenly as you can.
Add another layer of Nilla wafer cookies, then another layer of bananas.
Spread a final layer of pudding over the cookie and banana layer.
Top the pudding with the remaining half of the Cool Whip, then crush the rest of the Nilla wafers and sprinkle them over the top.
Notes
Use ripe bananas. They don't need to be as ripe as the ones you'd use for banana bread, but ripe enough that you get plenty of banana flavor without any brown spots.
If making this for a dinner party or small gathering, you can layer the ingredients in a trifle dish, or use individual serving cups and serve it like parfait. If serving in individual serving cups, it may be easier to crumble the Nilla Cookie layers.
