Instructions

To Make The Cream Cheese Truffles

  • Line a baking tray or shallow pan with parchment paper or wax paper and set it aside.
  • Place the Oreos in a food processor or high speed blender. Pulse into fine crumbs.
    18.12 oz Oreo Cookies
  • In a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer on high speed, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
    8 ounces Cream cheese
  • Add the Oreo cookie crumbs to the bowl with the cream cheese mixture. Mix on medium speed until well combined.
  • Use a small cookie scoop to make even sized balls. Roll the mixture in the palms of your hands to make them smooth and more rounded.
  • Place the rolled balls onto the prepared baking sheet, then place in the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.

To Decorate The Cookie Balls

  • As the Oreo truffles are chilling, prepare the snowman hats. Melt about ¼ cup of chocolate melts in a double boiler. You could also microwave the melts in a bowl instead.
10 ounces Ghirardelli white melting wafers
  • Use a skewer to dab a little of the melted chocolate onto the top of a mini Oreo half. Stick an upside down Rolo candy on top, and place in a single layer on a cookie sheet.

  • Decorate the rim of the hat with sprinkles. Repeat to make the rest of the snowman hats, then set aside and allow the chocolate to harden.
    Holly sprinkle mix
  • In a double boiler over low heat (or use a microwave safe bowl and microwave on low setting), melt the white melting wafers, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth.
10 ounces Ghirardelli white melting wafers
  • Next, use a fork to dip balls in melted chocolate. Lift the fork and lightly tap it on the side of the double boiler just to even out the coating. Place the ball back onto the baking tray.
  • Immediately, using a pair of tweezers, add the sprinkles to decorate the snowman face. Add black sugar pearl sprinkles for the eyes and mouth, then add a carrot sprinkle for the nose.
    Snowman sprinkle mix
  • If the chocolate has already started to set, dab a drop or two more on the snowman's head, then add the top hat. Hold it steady for a few seconds to be sure it sets and doesn’t slide off.
  • Repeat with the remaining Oreo balls.
  • Allow the candy coating on your adorable snowman Oreo balls to set completely on the prepared baking tray before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don't have a blender or food processor, add the cookies to a sealed sandwich bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
  • Once you've dipped the Oreo ball into the the chocolate, you'll have to work fast because the chocolate coating dries quickly.
  • It helps to do this with a partner if you can. One person can dip and the other can decorate.
