Equipment

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup white cake mix
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup colorful sprinkles
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 8 pink M&M's candies

Instructions

Heat Treating The Cake Mix

  • Start by heat treating your cake mix using one of the following two methods:
    1 cup white cake mix
  • Oven method: Sprinkle the raw cake mix onto the parchment lined baking sheet, smoothing it into an even layer. Bake in the oven on 350 degrees F for 5 minutes, then allow it to cool to room temperature.
  • Microwave method: Place the cake mix in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 30 seconds, stirring in between each one. Be sure to stir it well so the cake mix doesn’t burn. Continue to do this until the cake mix reaches 165 degrees F on an instant read thermometer.

Making The Bunny

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, cake mix, and sugar with an electric or stand mixer until evenly distributed.
16 ounces cream cheese , 1 cup white cake mix, 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Add white chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles to the cream cheese mixture and mix until well combined.
½ cup white chocolate chips, ½ cup colorful sprinkles
  • Separate the cream cheese mixture to form a large ball for the bunny’s body, 2 medium size balls for the bunny’s feet, and one small ball for the bunny’s tail.
  • Roll the balls in shredded coconut until fully covered.
    1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • Assemble the bunny butt on a serving plate or cutting board by using the two medium-sized balls for the bunny feet (use your hands to shape the feet into desired shape) and the small ball for the bunny tail.
  • Press each coconut covered cream cheese ball gently into the large dessert ball until it sticks. If needed, secure with toothpicks or wooden skewers.
  • Press the pink M&M’s into the cheese ball feet to make the bunny paws.
    8 pink M&M's candies
  • Cover loosely with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve.

Notes

Don't skip heat treating your cake mix first. It's necessary when working with anything containing raw flour, in order to kill any harmful bacteria.
