Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper and set it aside for easy removal of the strawberry brownies later.
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl using 20 to 30 second bursts until fully melted.
1/2 cup butter
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the dry strawberry cake mix, vanilla extract, and melted butter using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.
15.25 ounces strawberry cake mix, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, then add them to the cake mix batter.
2 eggs
Stir until everything is well combined. The brownie mixture will be thick.
Pour the strawberry brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with your spoon or spatula.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges of the brownies look set. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely before adding the glaze.
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and strawberry preserves to make the strawberry glaze.
1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 1/2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
When the brownies have cooled, lift them from the pan using the parchment paper. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the brownies using a butter knife and let it dry.
Once the glaze has set, cut the brownies into squares and serve.
