White Queso Dip

This White Queso Dip is the perfect appetizer for any party! The best part is that you can make this cheesy appetizer from scratch with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces white American cheese cut into cubes
  • 8 ounces pepper jack cheese cut into cubes
  • 8 ounces cream cheese cut into cubes and softened
  • ½ cup whole milk more as needed for a thinner dip
  • 4 ounces diced green chilies
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon chili powder
  • teaspoon ground cumin
  • Jalapeños, tomatoes or pico de gallo for garnish

Instructions

  • Cube the cheese and cream cheese into large chunks and add to a 10-inch medium skillet over medium heat.
    8 ounces white American cheese, 8 ounces pepper jack cheese, 8 ounces cream cheese
  • Add the milk and heat until the cheese is melted, then turn the heat to low.
    ½ cup whole milk
  • Add the chopped green chiles (drained) and seasonings. Stir to combine.
    4 ounces diced green chilies, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, ⅛ teaspoon chili powder, ⅛ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Continue to heat until the dip is creamy and sooth and bubbling hot.
  • Serve hot and serve with a side of tortilla chips. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add pickled jalapenos to the cheese, along with 1-2 tablespoons of the liquid.
  • If the dip is too thin, allow it to cook for a few minutes longer and it should thicken. If the dip is too thick, then add more milk or water, one tablespoon at a time. You could also add a little more of the canned jalapeno juice for more of a kick.
