I’m pretty picky about jewelry so when James Avery Artisan Jewelry recently opened a shop at Dillard’s, I was excited. This new shop, located at Sarasota’s University Town Center, features jewelry that’s just my style. I couldn’t wait to start shopping!

James Avery Artisan Jewelry

James Avery is a family owned company that began over 60 years ago at a simple workbench in a garage. These finely crafted jewelry designs are made in the Texas Hill Country by skilled artisans who use the beauty of design to celebrate life.  The pieces they create are more than just jewelry. They symbolize strong held beliefs and faithfulness and each one tells a story.

Specializing in sterling silver, 14 and 18 carat yellow and white gold along with gemstones for both women and men, James Avery has a universal appeal. What I love most about this jewelry is how timeless it is. My favorite designs are those that are simple yet beautifully made and these fit perfectly into my lifestyle.

This new shop is just in time for Christmas so I was keeping my eyes open for gift ideas too. However, this time I was treating myself…it was long overdue.

There were so many gorgeous pieces that I knew I’d have a hard time narrowing it down. I was immediately drawn to the heart shaped necklaces, a style that James Avery is known for.

I fell in love with these, especially the Double Heart Linked Necklace. It made me think of my girls, with one heart representing Ashling and the other Keira. These pieces are meant to tell a story and I really felt like this one told mine!

I also plan to use this as a way to show my girls how much I miss them when I’m traveling. Every time they see me wearing this necklace in pictures, they’ll know I’m thinking about them. It’s a great way to stay close to them and send them my love, even when I’m miles away.

Gift Giving With James Avery

I wasn’t finished looking though and became totally obsessed with these charms! They’re so dainty and adorable and they have something for everyone. There were charms for music lovers, travelers, fashionistas and more. If you know someone who loves baking, how perfect would this tiny mixer be for a Christmas gift!

They make thoughtful gifts for other occasions too. These pink and blue baby footprints would make a sweet baby shower gift.

My girls would love these birthstone designs. With rings, necklaces and earrings, I’ve got birthdays covered now. They’ll feel so special getting a piece of “grown-up” jewelry!

Though James Avery Jewelry is casual enough to wear every day, they have stunning pieces for dressier occasions (I’m thinking holiday parties).

Designs That Tell A Story

As I continued to look around, I found something else that caught my eye.

Dream Big! These are words that I live by…words that are important to me. I’ve always felt that if you dream big, good things will happen and so far that’s held true. Just like the Double Heart necklace, James Avery was telling my story.

How could I possibly choose between the two? I had to have both!

Not only did I end up with two pieces of jewelry that I absolutely love, but the ladies helping me were fantastic! Kimber’s help and knowledge of all things James Avery really made the shopping experience a great one.

She also filled me in on some big secrets (okay…not really secrets, just things I didn’t know). While the shop is open now, the James Avery shop at Dillard’s University Town Center will be having their big grand opening celebration this weekend. I love that these necklaces go beautifully with everything, whether I’m in shorts and a cute top or going out for date night with my hubby.
