The story behind the tradition is that one of Santa’s scout elves will visit your home each day in December. Then he flies back to the North Pole each night to report back to Santa. He fills the big guy in, telling him about the children’s good (or naughty) behavior. When the elf returns each morning, he can be found in a different location, usually making mischief or offering a fun surprise for the kids.
