Ingredients
- Nutter Butter cookies
- White chocolate melts
- Candy eyes
- Chocolate chips
How to Make Nutter Butter Ghosts
Step 1: Place the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments, stirring in between. Continue until chocolate is melted and smooth.
Step 2: Dip about 3/4 of each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted candy, then hold it over the bowl to let excess chocolate drip off. Set it on a piece of parchment paper or wax paper.
Step 3: Working in batches of 3-4 cookies, add two candy eyes and a chocolate chip for the mouth. You’ll want to be sure to do this before the chocolate sets.
Let chocolate set and enjoy!
Tips & Tricks
- Instead of using candy eyes, you can use black decorating frosting or even mini chocolate chips.
- Make these into ghost pops by adding a lollipop stick in the center of each cookie. Just press it into the cream filling at the bottom of the cookie. You can add a little white chocolate to the stick to be sure it stays in place.
- Make mummy Nutter Butter cookies by dipping the entire cookie in white chocolate, adding the eyes and letting it set. Then add more melted chocolate to a piping bag and cut off the tip. Drizzle chocolate back and forth over the cookie until it resembles a mummy.
If you don’t have piping bags, you can use a regular plastic storage bag with the tip cut off one corner instead.
How Do I Store These?
Wait for the melted chocolate to harden, then place ghost cookies in an airtight container. If you’re stacking them, be sure to put a piece of parchment or wax paper between each one. They can be stored at room temperature for up to a week.
Can I Use White Chocolate Chips?
Sure – if you don’t have candy melts, white chocolate chips will also work. However, I’ve found that almond bark is easier so I’d go for that over the chocolate chips.
If your melted chocolate is too thick, you can add a little bit of coconut oil or Wilton EZ Thin to help it melt more smoothly.
