First Day Of School Signs

Every year on the first day of school, I printed out these signs for my two girls and made them pose for a photo before heading out the door. They may have rolled their eyes a little, but those pictures are some of my absolute favorites. There’s just something special about lining them up year after year and watching how much they change.

This year is a big one in our house because my oldest is heading to college. Something tells me she is not going to let me hand her a sign in front of her dorm! But for those of you still in the thick of the school years, you’ll love creating these photos at the start of each new grade. All you do is add the school year at the bottom and you’re ready to go!

Why We Love These Back To School Signs

  • Budget Friendly – No need to buy anything. As long as you have a printer and paper, you’ve got everything you need.
  • Fun Keepsake – It’s so fun to look back on these photos and see how much your kids have grown year after year.
  • Every Grade Is Covered – From the very first day of Kindergarten all the way through Senior year, there’s a sign for every single year.

How To Use Your Signs

Start by downloading and printing the sign (or signs) that you need. Then just add the school year in the box at the bottom (for example, this year would be 2026-2027) and snap those adorable first day of school pictures.

I always print these signs on cardstock because makes them a little sturdier and they look better in the photos.
