How to Make Dill Pickle Dip
Step 1. If you’re using whole dill pickles, start by chopping them into fine pieces and adding them to a large mixing bowl. Add cream cheese, chopped pickles, mayo, extra pickle juice and sour cream.
Step 2. Next, add the dried dill weed, onion powder, garlic powder and ranch dressing seasoning and mix well. Then, add pepper and salt to taste.

Step 3. Mix with an electric mixer until well combined.
Step 4. Refrigerate for one hour, covered, until chilled.

Step 5. Pour your dip into a serving dish, then top with fresh dill and chopped pickles.

Step 6. Serve with pretzels and chips, and enjoy!
How to Store Leftover Dip
Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to a couple of days. Before serving, give it a quick stir in case the pickle juice as settled. For best results, I don’t recommend freezing this dip because the ingredients tend to separate.

Variations and Add-ins
- Greek yogurt: For a bit more tang, you can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
- Heat: Add a little bit of crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce for spicy kick.
- Cheese: Stir in some shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack for a creamy, cheesy twist.
- Crunch: Mix in finely chopped celery or diced red onion for added texture.
- Roasted garlic: If you like a strong garlicky flavor, you can add a few cloves of roasted garlic to the mixture.
- Bacon: Crumble cooked, crispy bacon into the dip for a smoky, savory flavor.
- Other fresh herbs: Fresh parsley, chives, or even a small amount of fresh thyme can add extra layers of flavor to the dip.

FAQs
You can always serve it as a dip with sturdy potato chips, crackers and veggies. Other great ways to use this creamy dip is as a sandwich spread, bagel topping or with seafood as a tangy tartar sauce. It’s also delicious with pita bread as a quick snack.
Regular dill or kosher pickles are great in this recipe. You could also swap the regular dills for spicy pickles or use bread and butter pickles for a sweeter flavor.
If the dip seems too runny, add a little more cream cheese or sour cream until it reaches the desired consistency. Keep in mind that the dip will thicken as it chills.
Mix 1 teaspoon each of dried parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder with a pinch of salt as a substitute.
