How To Make Birthday Cake Pudding Shots

Step 1: Start by heat treating your cake mix (this helps kill any bacteria that could come from the raw flour). You can easily do this by spreading it over a cookie sheet and baking at 350F for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add the vanilla pudding mix and ½ cup of the white cake mix to a large mixing bowl. Stir to combine.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you are going to make these in advance and chill them overnight before serving, be sure to use lids or keep them covered. You should also wait until just before serving to add the whipped cream.
  • For a quick and easy way to fill your shot glasses, try using a piping bag or pipe the pudding through a plastic bag with the corner cut off.
  • Replace the vodka with another half cup of milk to make non-alcoholic pudding cups for the kids or anyone who’s not drinking.
  • For a more festive birthday shot, you can add the sprinkles right into the pudding batter.

How Do I Store Birthday Cake Pudding Shots?

Cover your shots with plastic wrap or lids and place them in an airtight container. They should keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.

Can I Use a Different Type of Alcohol?

I love whipped cream vodka for this recipe, although rum would also work in a pinch. You could also try another flavored vodka like Pinnacle Cake Vodka or vanilla vodka for a little extra flavor. If you can’t find those, you can use regular vodka to make these too.
