How to Make Pink Starburst Jello Shots

Step 1: Bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.

Step 2: Remove the boiling water from the heat. In the saucepan or a large mixing bowl, whisk in the Starburst Jello mix. Be sure the gelatin has dissolved completely.

Step 3: Add ½ cup cold water and stir again. Note: If you want your shots to set faster, you can substitute ice (about 3/4 cup) for the water.

Tips & Tricks

  • Transfer the gelatin mixture from the pot to a measuring cup with a pouring spout to fill your shot cups easily. You’ll also want to place the cups on a baking sheet so it’s easy to move them to the refrigerator.
  • Don’t place the Starburst candy on too soon or it may sink to the bottom.
  • If you don’t have the candy, you can simply garnish these shots with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
  • We made this recipe with plain vodka but you could also try strawberry, vanilla, or whipped cream flavored vodka. You could even use pink lemonade vodka. The tart flavor from the pink lemonade goes great with the strawberry Jello flavor.
  • Make Starburst Jello shots with different flavors of Starburst gelatin. Try some different varieties like blue raspberry, watermelon or cherry.

How Can I Make Jello Shots Set Faster

In a hurry? Instead of cold water, pour in 3/4 cup of ice cubes and stir until dissolved. This will help the Jello shots set up quicker. You can also chill your vodka in the freezer until you’re ready to use it.

Can I Freeze Jello Shots?

No, it’s not a great idea to try to freeze your shots as they may form a layer of ice on top and the texture won’t be the same once they’re thawed.

How Do I Store Starburst Jello Shots?

Store covered or in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They’ll taste best if consumed within 1-2 days, but they can last for up to 5 days if you want to make your shots ahead of time.
