This Sour Cream Veggie Dip is a classic party dip that’s always a favorite! Loaded with fresh herbs and spices that give it an extra burst of flavor, it’s so deliciously smooth and creamy that it’ll take your veggies to a whole new level!

When you’re throwing a party, a good dip is a must have. Some of our personal favorites are this delicious sausage cheese dip and our ground beef taco dip and I always know that when I serve them, they’ll be a big hit.

As easy as those are, sometimes I just need a simple dip recipe with no cooking involved. That’s when this sour cream veggie dip is our go to recipe. It’s beyond easy. Just throw a few ingredients in a bowl, mix well and you’ve got a tasty cold dip that’s the perfect companion for your favorite veggies.

Easy To Make – All you have to do to make this easy appetizer is gather a few simple ingredients, toss ’em in a bowl and stir. It doesn’t get much easier than that and it’s definitely the best dip for when you don’t have a lot of time!

Versatile – While we used ingredients like dill, parsley and garlic powder, you can also add onion flakes, chives or any other flavors you prefer.

Great For Feeding A Crowd – The great thing about this creamy veggie dip is that you can make as little or as much as you need. Half the recipe if you just want to serve a few people or double it if you’re expecting a lot of people.

  • Fresh lemon juice

What to dip in your sour cream veggie dip

One of the things that makes this the best veggie dip is that it tastes great with so many different dippers. From fresh veggies to chips, these are just a few of our favorites:

  • Raw vegetables – celery, baby carrots, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, broccoli florets, radishes, mushrooms, bell peppers, fresh snap peas
  • Cooked vegetables – sweet potato fries, roasted brussel sprouts, bacon wrapped asparagus
  • Chips & crackers – tortilla chips, pita chips, potato chips, pretzel sticks, crackers
  • Bread – breadsticks, toasted baguette slices, sourdough bread chunks

Tips & Tricks

  • Make the dip ahead of time and let it chill in the refrigerator overnight to give the flavors time to meld together. The best part is that this will also save you time when you’re prepping for the party.
  • Scoop out the center of a sourdough bread loaf and fill it with the dip for a fun presentation. Break the bread extra bread into small chunks for dipping.
  • For an even more unique presentation, serve your veggie dip in a hollowed out bell pepper.

How do I store this dip?

Don’t count on having leftover dip but if you get lucky and have a little left, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should stay good for up to three days.

Can this dip be frozen?

Dairy products typically don’t freeze well so freezing this dip is not recommended.

This Sour Cream Veggie Dip is the perfect addition to any vegetable platter or charcuterie board. With a smooth, creamy texture and herbs and spices to add lots of flavor, this delicious dip recipe is always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh dill weed finely chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl.
    1 ½ cups sour cream, ¼ cup mayonnaise, 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, 1 Tbsp fresh dill weed, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and serve as part of a veggie tray or charcuterie board. Enjoy!

Notes

While we made this with full-fat sour cream, you can use light sour cream, as well as light mayonnaise, if you’re trying to stick to a low calorie diet.
