This backyard scavenger hunt is the perfect summer activity for kids! If you want to keep them busy, having fun and off the computer for awhile, they’ll have a blast with this fun game!
Keeping the kids entertained can be a full time job. Mine would be on computer ALL day if I didn’t stay on top of them (thank goodness for our Alexa timer). Luckily my youngest is pretty easy to distract with activities like toilet paper crafts or Disney princess coloring pages.
Backyard Scavenger Hunt
While she has fun with indoor activities, she’s also my outdoorsy child and loves to play outside when the Florida sun isn’t beating down too hard. That’s why I knew she’d love this backyard scavenger hunt. In fact, I was hoping that even my 12 year old would have some fun with it too!
It was a huge success! Even my oldest had a great time trying to find everything on the list. Some were harder to find than others (a spider web) while others were super easy. I mean, we just had to open our garage to find a bike!
If you’re looking for new outdoor games for the kids, you’ll have to try this. I promise your kids will have so much fun with it! I may even make a longer one with more things to look for next time. Even I had fun playing along!
Have you ever done an outdoor scavenger hunt? What would you add to this list?

This Seashell Turtle Craft is the perfect way to use those seashells that you brought home from your last beach vacation!
Still have seashells left over? They’re perfect for this cute Paper Plate Ocean Craft!
If the kids are doing a lot of summer reading, they can make a Unicorn Bookmark to save their spots.
