Storage Instructions

Place leftover tortilla pinwheels in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. They’ll stay fresh for about 3-4 days.

I don’t recommend freezing them because the moisture from the fillings can make the tortilla soggy as it thaws.

Ham & Turkey Pinwheel Recipe Variations and Add-ins

  • Tortillas: We used regular tortillas to make our pinwheels, but you can use whole wheat tortillas or any other variety you like.
  • Ranch dressing: Replace the mayo in the cream cheese spread with a little ranch dressing for a tangy twist.
  • Red onion: Thinly sliced red onion adds a pop of color and a sharp oniony flavor.
  • Pickles: Diced pickles or pickle relish can add a little crunch and a delicious, tangy flavor.
  • Spinach: Replace the lettuce with fresh spinach leaves for added nutrients.
  • Sriracha or hot sauce: For a spicy kick, add a small amount of Sriracha or hot sauce to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Dijon mustard: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the tortillas before adding the cream cheese mixture. You can also use regular yellow mustard.

It sounds good, EXCEPT, the tortilla was NOT cooked. If the tortilla had been cooked on an iron skillet or tortilla grill first before filling it with the ingredients it would be much better.

      1. Hi Patricia, The problem with cooking the tortilla is that it would become crunchy. That’s great for quesadillas but unfortunately won’t work for pinwheels because the tortilla would break apart as you tried to roll it.
