This Father’s Day Picture Frame Craft is as easy as it gets and and perfect for kids of all ages. A few popsicle sticks, some craft foam, and a handful of rocks are all you need to make a gift dad is sure to love.

Father’s Day Picture Frame
Every dad loves a good dad joke, and the best dad jokes always come with a great pun. This “My Dad Rocks” picture frame is basically a dad joke you can hang on the wall, and trust me, he’s going to love it.
When I was prepping for my upcoming Father’s Day segment on Sarasota’s Suncoast View, I knew I wanted to share a good photo craft. They’re always my favorites for gifting because you can never have too many photos of your kids (or in my parents case, your grandkids). They’re even better when they are completely handmade…that little personal touch makes all the difference.

Why We Love This Craft
- Easy to Make – This craft comes together with just a few basic supplies and zero special skills required. If the kids can glue a popsicle stick, they can make this.
- Budget-Friendly – Everything you need is easy to find at the dollar store or craft store without spending a lot. It’s one of those gifts that looks like you spent way more than you did.
- Perfect for All Ages – From little ones to tweens, every kid can put their own spin on this frame. The youngest ones may need a little help, but that just makes it even more fun.
Supplies

- 4 1/2″ Popsicle sticks
- Small rocks/pebbles
- Craft foam (I used tan to match the rocks but feel free to use whatever color you like)
- Black paint (or Sharpie)
Tools needed:
- Scissors
- Glue (hot glue gun for older kids, white craft glue for the younger ones)
- Thin paintbrush
Tips & Tricks
- While I used black paint, younger kids may find it easier to write their message with a permanent black marker.
- Instead of a standing picture frame, you can add magnets to the back and use it to decorate the refrigerator.
- If you don’t have craft foam, you can use construction paper or cardstock instead.

Father’s Day Picture Frame
Materials
- 9 popsicle sticks 4 1/2" size
- small rocks/pebbles
- 1 sheet craft foam tan or color of choice
- black paint
Instructions
- Glue 4 popsicle sticks together to make a square shape.
- Glue 4 more sticks on top of those, also in a square shape. This will give you a "slot" to add the photo. Let glue dry.
- Cut two pieces of foam craft to fit the top and bottom of the frame. You'll want them to be slightly shorter than the width of the frame. On one, paint "My Dad" and on the other, paint "Rocks". Let dry.
- Trim your photo and insert it into the frame. Be sure you don't trim too much to start…you can always cut more off.
- Flip the frame to the back. Add a drop of glue at the top of the photo and a drop of glue at the bottom to hold it in place.
- Glue your craft foam to the top and bottom of the frame, then add rocks.
- Finally, glue a popsicle stick to the back, at an angle, to act as the picture stand. Make sure you use a good amount of glue so that it stays put.
- Once the glue dries, you're good to go…you've got the perfect Father's Day gift for dad!
Notes
- It may be easier for younger kids to write their message with a Sharpie, rather than paint.
- Instead of a popsicle stick stand, you can add magnets to the back and use it to decorate the refrigerator.
- I like craft foam best but if you don’t have any on hand, you can use construction paper or cardstock instead.
