Blackberry Mojito Recipe

Need a great summer party drink that’s sure to impress a crowd? We always love this Malibu Pina Cola and Watermelon Mojito but these refreshing blackberry mojitos are a brand new summer favorite! It has the delicious fresh mint and lime flavor that a classic mojito cocktail is known for, but this version adds fresh blackberries for a fun, fruity twist.

And if you think you need expert bartending skills to make this cocktail, think again. The key to a great mojito is shaking (or crushing) the lime and mint just enough to release the flavors without overdoing it. Then just add your favorite white rum and some club soda and you’re good to go!

Perfect for summer parties and patio happy hours, this cocktail recipe is one that you’ll be reaching for all summer long. Once you try it, you won’t want regular mojitos ever again!

How to Make Blackberry Mojitos

Step 1: Add the blackberries, fresh lime juice, sugar and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until the blackberries and mint leaves have been crushed. If you have a muddler, use it to muddle them together for even more minty flavor!

If you don’t have a muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you’re worried that the sugar won’t dissolve completely and will cause your drink to be gritty, you can substitute simple syrup. This would taste delicious with blackberry simple syrup.
  • Be sure to use a light rum. The dark or spiced variety won’t work as well and may overpower the mint and lime flavors.
  • I love leaving the mint in my drink for the extra flavor. However, if you prefer not to drink the crushed leaves, you can strain your mojito before drinking.

Can I make These in Advance?

I wouldn’t recommend it. A mojito is one of those drinks that really needs to be made right before you serve it to get that great fresh flavor. But if you’re making this for a party, you can definitely increase the recipe and make a big pitcher.

What Kind of Glass Should I Use?

Mojitos are typically served in something tall, like a Collins glass. If you don’t have one, a pint glass will also work.
