These Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels are creamy, spicy spirals of buffalo sauce and tender shredded chicken. Roll them, slice them, and then just try not to eat half the tray standing at the counter.

Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels Recipe
I love buffalo chicken, but sometimes I want the flavor without committing to full on chicken wings and a stack of napkins. That’s exactly what gave me the idea for these Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels. They’ve got all the creamy, spicy goodness I crave, rolled into bite size spirals that come together in minutes.
You’ve got tender chicken, tangy buffalo sauce, sharp cheddar, and just enough crisp celery, and green onion for a little fresh crunch. I roll the mixture into soft flour tortillas and slice them into tight little swirls that are so fun and easy to eat. They’re great for sharing at parties and on game day, or keeping all to yourself. Honestly, I’ve done both.
These pinwheels have bold buffalo flavor, so I like balancing them out with something cool and creamy. They taste amazing with my Blue Cheese Dip but go perfectly with my Green Goddess Dip or Sour Cream Veggie Dip too. Set them out with a tray of crisp veggies and dip and you’ve got an easy snack spread everyone will love.

Storage Instructions
Fridge: You can store buffalo chicken pinwheels in an airtight container for 4 to 5 days. I like to place parchment between layers to prevent them from sticking.
Freezer: You can also freeze these pinwheels in an airtight container separated by parchment. Thaw them overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Variations And Add-ins
If you want to change things up, this is a very forgiving recipe. A few small swaps or add ins can take these in a totally different direction.
- Blue cheese: You can add blue cheese crumbles if you love classic blue cheese flavor.
- Cheese: Swap cheddar for colby jack for a milder twist.
- Ranch: Serve the pinwheels with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
- Bacon: Add finely chopped cooked bacon for a smoky touch.
- Baked pinwheels: Try buffalo chicken pinwheels with puff pastry by spreading the filling over one sheet of puff pastry, roll the puff pastry tightly, slice, and bake on a parchment lined baking sheet at 375°F until golden.

Tips And Tricks
These pinwheels are so simple, but a couple tiny details make a big difference.
- Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature before mixing so it blends smoothly.
- Use shredded rotisserie chicken to save time and add extra flavor.
- If your tortilla feels stiff, warm it for a few seconds so it rolls tightly without cracking.
- If the mixture seems soft, wrap the rolled tortillas in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Use a sharp knife and wipe it clean between slices to keep the pinwheel edges neat.
- If using canned chicken, drain it very well and break it up finely before mixing.
