👩🏼‍🍳How to Make Easy Cheeseburger Eggrolls

To Make The Filling

Step 1. Combine ground beef, pepper, seasoning salt and diced onions in a medium skillet.

Step 2. Cook the ground beef on medium heat until cooked through and completely brown. Drain the excess fat.

Step 3. Add the BBQ seasoning to the cooked meat and onions and mix together.

How To Assemble

Step 4. Add a little bit of water to a small bowl. One at a time place egg roll wrapper on a flat work surface and wet the edges of the square all the way around with a little water. This will help seal it when rolling together later.

Step 5. Lay half a slice of cheddar or American cheese in the center of the wrapper diagonally.

Step 6. Place a heaping two tablespoons of cheeseburger egg roll filling mixture on top of the cheese.

Step 7. Top with about a teaspoon each of the chopped pickles and crumbled bacon.

Step 8. Take one corner of the egg roll wrapper and fold the moistened corner facing the parallel opposite corner just far enough to cover the mixture. Press the wrapper down, molding it around the filling.

Step 9. Take the right and left corners of the square and bring them both to the center, again pulling far enough to cover the filling and molding around the rest of the egg roll.

Step 10. Then just roll the egg roll forward until the wrapper is completely wrapped around and sealed to the egg roll. Place the filled egg roll on a baking sheet and continue wrapping the rest.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

  • Fridge: Allow the egg rolls to cool to room temperature. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a couple of days.
  • Freezer: Though these cheeseburger egg rolls are best when freshly made, you can freeze leftovers. Let your cooked egg rolls cool, them place them in a freezer safe bag and freeze for up to a couple of months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
  • Reheating: For best results when reheating, place the egg rolls on a baking sheet and reheat on 375 degrees in the oven until warm. Keep in mind, the egg wrappers will not be as crispy as when they were first made, but they’ll still taste amazing.

Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll Variations

  • Wrappers: Instead of egg roll wrappers, you can use spring roll wrappers. Egg wrappers are slightly thicker and have more of a chewy texture. Spring rolls wrappers are super crispy, with a flaky texture when they’re cooked. Cheeseburger spring rolls also may not take quite as long to cook, so keep an eye on them after a couple of minutes.
  • Beef: For these egg roll fillings, we used lean ground beef but you can use ground turkey, ground pork or even ground chicken.
  • Cheese: You can add just about type of melty cheese you typically like with your cheeseburgers. Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack and white cheddar are all great choices.
  • Seasonings: Think of the filling just as you would when making hamburger patties. Feel free to add other seasonings of your choice like Worcestershire sauce or a dash of soy sauce. For a spicy kick, add a few red pepper flakes or a dash or two of hot sauce.

Can I make these in an air fryer?

For air fryer cheeseburger egg rolls, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, then add egg rolls in a single layer. Brush a little cooking or olive oil over the tops and air fry at 375 degrees for 5-6 minutes. Flip the egg rolls and cook for another 5 minutes.
