  • Ridiculously easy to make: You just need a few ingredients and a big mixing bowl.
  • Perfect for parties: This creamy grape salad is guaranteed to be a hit at any potluck.
  • Make ahead friendly: It actually gets better after chilling, so it’s perfect when you need to prepare a simple side dish in advance.

Ingredients

Various labeled ingredients for a grape salad recipe are displayed in glass bowls, including black, green, and red grapes, cream cheese, sour cream, pecans, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Cream cheese: Softened cream cheese makes the dressing extra thick and creamy.
  • Sour cream: Adds a little tanginess that balances the sweetness perfectly.
  • Granulated sugar: Just the right amount to sweeten the cream cheese dressing.
  • Vanilla extract: A splash of vanilla brings all the flavors together.
  • Seedless grapes: Juicy red grapes and green grapes are the real star of this easy recipe.
  • Brown sugar: Sprinkled on top for a caramel-like sweetness.
  • Pecans: Crunchy, buttery, and perfect for adding a little extra texture..

How To Make This Easy Grape Salad Recipe

Step 1. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.

Step 2. Gently fold in the grapes, coating them completely with the cream cheese mixture. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, giving the cream cheese dressing time to set.

Step 3. Just before serving, sprinkle the brown sugar and pecans on top. (the best part, if you ask me!).

Storage Instructions

You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I don’t recommend freezing because the dressing and grapes can separate when thawed.

Tips And Tricks

  • You’ll want to use room temperature cream cheese. It’s much easier to blend with the sour cream once it’s softened.
  • After rinsing, pat your fresh grapes dry with paper towels so the dressing sticks better.
  • Refrigerate the grape salad for at least an hour so that the flavors have time to come together.
  • Add the pecans and brown sugar on top of the salad just before serving to keep them crunchy.
  • Avoid low fat cream cheese. Full fat is creamier and firmer.

Variations And Add-ins

  • Grapes: Use all green grapes to make it look more festive for spring or baby showers.
  • Nuts: Swap pecans for walnuts if you prefer a slightly more rustic flavor in your topping.
  • Marshmallows: Mix in some mini marshmallows for an extra sweetness.
  • Pretzels: Top with a sprinkle of crushed pretzels for a salty crunch.
  • Toffee: Swap brown sugar for toffee bits for a sweet candy crunch.
  • Cool Whip: Add a dollop to the cream cheese mixture for a lighter, fluffier dressing.
  • Yogurt: Use vanilla yogurt or Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a slightly tangier and lighter option.
