This easy Nutella milkshake recipe is the perfect dessert for Nutella lovers! With just three ingredients, it’s a deliciously simple way to treat yourself when you’re in the mood for something sweet!
Are you a Nutella lover? I mean, it’s kind hard NOT to be, especially if you already like chocolate! We’ve made our fair share of milkshakes, from OREO shakes to chocolate milkshakes but if you drool over Nutella AND you love milkshakes, you’ll totally flip for this…it’s the ultimate Nutella milkshake recipe!!!
How to make a Nutella Milkshake
The best part about this creamy milkshake is that it’s made with just three simple ingredients! You definitely don’t need to be an expert at desserts…just toss the ingredients in the blender, add garnish and you’re good to go!
Step 1: Scoop vanilla ice cream into a blender. We used vanilla but it’s delish with chocolate too!
Step 2: Add whole or 2% milk.
Step 3: Add Nutella
Now just blend on medium speed until the ingredients are mixed well Ninja blenders are my all time favorite but if you don’t have a blender one, you could use a hand mixer instead. Add Nutella to the inside of your milkshake glasses, pour your milkshake in and top with whipped cream for garnish.
We made our own whipped cream by whipping heavy cream with confectioners sugar but store bought works just fine too!
The final step is the easiest: Enjoy!!! That’s not hard to do because this Nutella milkshake turned out SO good! It’s definitely satisfying our sweet tooth (and regular Nutella cravings)!
My eight year old daughter couldn’t wait to help me taste test these. She said it was the BEST shake ever and gave it two giant thumbs up. If you’re trying to use up that extra Nutella in the pantry, I can’t think of a better way to do it!
Can I Make Nutella Milkshake with Leftover Nutella?
Oh yes, you totally can! If your Nutella jar has a little leftover around the inside, this is the perfect way to use it. Pour half of your milk into a microwave safe cup and heat until warm. You don’t want to make it too hot because the Nutella container is plastic.
Now pour the milk into the Nutella container, screw the cap on tight and shake until the Nutella dissolves in the milk. Add the Nutella milk to the regular milk when you’re making your shake. Nutella is WAY too good to waste and this is the perfect way to get every last bit!
How do you make a Nutella milkshake without ice cream?
Want to make a Nutella milkshake without ice cream? Try this alternative Nutella milkshake recipe. Just combine the following ingredients in a blender:
- 1 tbsp Nutella
- 1 tbsp cream cheese
- 2 tsp simple syrup
- 1 cup milk
Mix until the ingredients are well blended. This recipe isn’t as thick as ones with ice cream but it was still really tasty and we enjoyed it!
Want A Healthier Option?
Want to indulge a bit but still keep it somewhat healthy? There’s a simple way to do that, you’ll just have to prepare a little ahead of time. Chop up some bananas, pop ’em in a freezer bag and freeze them. When you’re ready to make your shake, use the banana in place of ice cream.
Another way to make your milkshake a little better for you is replace your 2% milk or whole milk with skim milk or even almond milk instead.
You can add other ingredients to add a fun twist to you milkshake! Try some of these milkshake ingredients:
- Peanut Butter
- OREO cookies
- Dark chocolate sauce
You can also replace the vanilla ice cream with chocolate, to make it extra chocolate-y! Or come up with some delicious ideas of your own!
