Homemade strawberry milkshake

You can never go wrong with a refreshing homemade milkshake on a hot summer day! Not only are they delicious but they’re so easy to make that lately I’ve gone a little crazy! I’ve made everything from a creamsicle milkshake to a Nutella milkshake and you can never go wrong with a classic vanilla milkshake, right? My favorite might just be this OREO milkshake though…it is SERIOUSLY good!!!

How To Make A Strawberry Milkshake

One of my favorite things about making strawberry shakes is that it’s such an easy recipe. The best part is that you probably already have what you need! This recipe uses just four main ingredients.

Step 1: Start by adding four scoops of vanilla ice cream (about two cups) to your blender. For a stronger strawberry flavor, you can substitute strawberry ice cream instead.

Step 2: Pour in 1/2 cup of milk. We use whole milk but you can use any kind you like, including almond milk.

Step 3: Add strawberries. (For a delicious strawberry banana milkshake, just add two ripe bananas).

Step 4: Finally, add a little sugar. The strawberries do have some natural sweetness but you’ll want a little more.

Step 5: Blend until smooth and creamy.

Step 6: Pour into a tall glass. If you want smaller servings, pour into two separate glasses.

Step 7: Add whipped cream to the top of the milkshakes to make your homemade strawberry milkshake even more tasty! Use heavy cream to make your own or add store bought…either one will just add to the creamy goodness of this awesome dessert!

Can You Make A Strawberry Milkshake With Frozen Strawberries

Yes! If you don’t happen to have strawberries or it’s not strawberry season, frozen ones work just fine. Because they may hold a little more water, you might want to add a little more ice cream to get that thick milkshake consistency.

How To Make A Thicker Milkshake

If you want to make your strawberry shake extra thick, just add less milk or more ice cream. If you want to increase the serving size, more ice cream gives you more milkshake. This is a great option if you’re splitting the shake.

How To Make A Milkshake Without A Blender

While a blender definitely makes things easier, you don’t have to have one to make a delicious milkshake. This YouTube video has a great tutorial on how to make a milkshake without a blender. As long as you have a good insulated cup, you’re in business! I’m totally using this technique as a backup for if I’m ever without a blender.
