Mermaid themed birthday parties are all the rage these days, and for good reason! Not only does everyone love these fascinating, underwater creatures, but now we have the movie to look forward to!

Unless you’ve been living under a piece of coral, you probably know that Disney’s live animation version of The Little Mermaid is coming out on May 26th. This means that everyone will be falling in love with mermaids all over again…which also means that a whole lot of little girls are going to want mermaid birthday parties this year!

Mermaid Party Printable Games

If you’re planning a mermaid party for your own little princess, you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of activities planned to keep party-goers entertained. But don’t worry…I’ve got three mermaid party ideas that are sure to make a splash!

Pin The Shell On The Mermaid

We’re giving this classic party game a fun mermaid makeover! But instead of pin the tail on the mermaid, we’re pinning a shell to our mermaid’s hair.

Just print out the four mermaid pages, tape them together and attach to the wall. Next, cut out the number of shells you’ll need and label each child’s with their name. Finally, add a piece of tape to the back.

Blindfold each child and spin them around three times. Let them take turns trying to pin the shell on the mermaid. The child who ends up closest to the right spot wins the game! This game is perfect for younger children who may not be able to read or participate in more involved games but the older kids will love it too!

Mermaid Bingo

You can never go wrong with bingo. It’s easy, fun and you can play as many times as you’d like. The kids will have a blast with this free printable mermaid bingo.

Just print the bingo cards, calling cards and markers and you’re ready to play. The cards are filled with fun pictures of mermaids, shells, starfish, and other underwater creatures. Just call out the names of the items, and the first child to get a bingo wins! If you don’t want anyone to feel left out, keep going until everyone is a winner and give each of the players a small prize.

Tip: If you don’t want to cut out the paper markers, you can use small seashells or other ocean-themed items instead.

Mermaid Would She Rather

Kids love a good round of “Would You Rather” but this “Would She Rather” version is a fun twist with a mermaid theme. Each child will answer questions about the birthday girl and in the end, will see who knows her best.

Start by giving each guest a list of the questions. Be sure that the birthday girl sits separately from her guests so that they don’t see her answers.

Set a timer for 5 minutes and have everyone fill out the form. After the time is up, the birthday girl will share her answers and the winner will the one who answered the most correctly. Everyone will love this easy game and it’s also a great way for them to get to know the birthday girl a little better.

Mermaid Would She Rather

These printable party games are sure to be a big hit at your child’s birthday party. The best part is that now you can focus on planning the food and decorations. The activities are covered and these games will keep everyone entertained and having fun!
