Paper Plate Unicorn
This paper plate unicorn craft is proof that you don’t need a ton of supplies (or a trip to the craft store) to make something magical. All you need is a paper plate, some printer paper, glue, and our free printable pieces. I love it because it’s simple, budget-friendly, and best of all, totally adorable!
Since it’s so easy to put together, it’s a great activity for kids to do on their own (or with just a little help). Just print the template, cut out the pieces, and glue everything to the paper plate…no fancy tools or crafting skills required.
It’s the perfect rainy day project to keep little ones entertained, but it’s also a big hit at unicorn birthday parties! Set up a craft table with a few supplies and let the kids create their own unicorn masterpieces.
What You’ll Need

The great thing about this craft is that you don’t need much to put it all together!

- Scissors
- Glue stick
How To Get The Printable Unicorn Pieces
To make this craft as easy as possible, I’ve created printable templates for all the unicorn pieces – the ears, horn, mane, and even those cute little eyes! Just download the PDF, print it on regular printer paper or cardstock, and you’re ready to go. You can print as many copies as you need, so it’s perfect for classrooms, playdates, or parties too.

Tips & Tricks
- Use cardstock if you want the pieces to be a little sturdier, especially for younger kids who tend to be a bit heavy-handed with the glue.
- Let the kids customize! They can color the horn, add glitter, or even draw their own designs for a truly one-of-a-kind unicorn.
- Pre-cut the pieces if you’re doing this with a group of kids fora party. It’ll make the whole process quicker and more fun.
- Stick with glue sticks for less mess. Liquid glue works too but takes a little longer to dry.
- Add a string to the top and turn your unicorn into a hanging decoration for bedrooms or party spaces!

- Add the horn to the center.

- Next, glue the purple mane piece, then the pink one over that.

- Add the eyes. making sure they are facing in the same direction. Draw on the eyelashes if needed.

- Finally, add the unicorn smile. Let the glue dry and enjoy!

Notes
- For a sturdier unicorn craft, you can print the template on cardstock.
- If making these for a party, I would precut all the pieces, then make a bag for each child with everything they need inside (it saves a lot of time and you won’t need scissors for every child). Be sure to have a few extra pieces of each set aside, just in case any get lost.
