Unicorn Board

If you’re planning a unicorn party (or just want an excuse to break out the sprinkles), this board is pure magic! A sweet, sparkly unicorn dip takes center stage, surrounded by colorful snacks that are just as fun to eat as they are to look at. I won’t lie—there was a lot of taste-testing going on while I was putting it together… quality control, right?

One of my favorite things about snack boards is how easy they are to customize. You can pile on your favorite treats, keep it super simple, or get fancy with homemade goodies. Make this for a unicorn birthday party and I guarantee the kids and adults won’t be able to stop coming back for more.

Want to level up the magic? Add a batch of Unicorn Kiss Meringues or some adorable Unicorn Cupcakes…they’re the perfect finishing touch!

**I made the chocolate horns using this inexpensive unicorn horn mold from Amazon. I took a bag of white chocolate melts, divided them into three bowls and colored them purple, pink and teal. Then I just piped them into the mold and let them set. They’re really fun and add a nice pop of color!

Other Options for Your Unicorn Charcuterie Board

Make these beautiful boards with any of your favorite colorful candy, cookies or crackers. Here are some ideas you can consider:

  • Fruit flavored candy canes
  • Rainbow colored gummy belts (bands)
  • Frosted animal crackers
  • White or pink chocolate covered pretzels
  • Mini powdered donuts
  • Colorful macarons
  • Pink colored fruit roll-ups
  • White chocolate covered strawberries

Tips & Tricks

  • Use different textures, sizes and shapes to keep your cookie and candy board interesting. For this board, the dip is creamy, the marshmallows are soft and chewy, the berries are juicy, and the crackers add a little bit of a crunch.
  • Part of what makes these grazing boards so much fun is that they follow a theme. For example, for a unicorn snack board, you’ll want to choose fun, colorful foods.
  • If you purchased too many sweet treats for your board, place some small party bags close by and allow everyone to pack some up to take home as party favors.

What if I Don’t Have a Large Cutting Board?

You don’t have to use a special charcuterie board or even a large cutting board. All you need is a surface large enough to hold the snacks you’re adding.

You can use a small marble slab, a large serving tray or even a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. If using parchment paper, you may want to tape the underside to the baking sheet, just so it doesn’t slide around.

Can I Make This In Advance?

Yes, you can make most of it the day before. If making the dip in advance, wait until just before serving to add the sprinkles. I would also wait to add the marshmallow “poop” until just before serving, so that the marshmallows don’t loose their softness.

  • Many of the items above were found at Walmart but I’ve linked to them on Amazon as well, just to make it easy.
  • You can make your own chocolate horns using this inexpensive unicorn horn mold from Amazon. Take a bag of white chocolate melts, divide into three bowls and color them purple, pink and teal. You can also buy melts in different colors but this way is more budget-friendly. After that, just pipe the chocolate into the mold and let them set.
