Inspired by Taylor Swift’s “The Life Of A Showgirl”, this pumpkin craft is bold, colorful, and full of personality. It’s the perfect way to combine fall fun with a little pop-star glamour.

The Life Of A Showgirl Pumpkin
We are big Swifties in my house…so much so that during the Eras tour, I made a Taylor Swift pumpkin inspired by her tour and her new romance. But this year, inspired by Taylor Swift’s latest album, I’ve got an all new pumpkin that’s easy, budget friendly and most of all, fun!
Like most of my pumpkins, it starts with a simple foam pumpkin from Dollar Tree. Painted teal, bedazzled in rhinestones and finished off with an orange feather fan, it totally captures that over-the-top showgirl vibe.
It’s a craft that’s just as sparkly and fun as Taylor herself! Display it on your porch, make it the centerpiece of your Halloween party, or add it to your fall décor for a pop of showgirl glam.

Why We Love It
- No Carving Required – Who wants to deal with messy pumpkin guts! Go straight to the fun with paint, rhinestones, and feathers.
- Budget Friendly – Made with a foam pumpkin from Dollar Tree and a few other inexpensive supplies, this craft won’t break the bank.
- A Conversation Starter – Whether it’s on your porch, at a Halloween party, or sitting on your desk, this pumpkin is guaranteed to get attention.

Supplies:
- Foam pumpkin (or pumpkin of your choice)

- 7″ 45 RPM record (optional – I found mine at a thrift store for $2.49)
- Orange paint (optional if using the record)
- Silver glitter (optional if using the record)
Equipment:
- Paint brush
- Hot glue gun
- Mini glue sticks
- Craft foam or cardboard scraps
Note: Links to all the supplies and equipment can be found in the How-To Card below.

Tips & Tricks
- While I’ve included a link to records in the how-to card, you can pick them up cheap at a thrift store. I paid $2.49 for mine. However, you get 10 in the link below so if you’re making these for a party, that’s the cheapest way to go.
- Making these for a party? I always paint the pumpkins ahead of time so party day is just for decorating.
- Be sure to factor in drying time. You will need 2-3 coats of paint and each coat takes about 30 minutes to dry.
- When making your pumpkin, be sure the feathers at the bottom are glued firmly to the fan. Otherwise your fan won’t stay in place. Don’t worry about using too much glue because that part will be hidden.

Variations
- Want a different vibe? Try pink paint and silver rhinestones for a more “Eras Tour” look.
- Sprinkle the record with orange glitter instead of silver.
- Add a mini feather boa around the bottom for more feathery fun.
- Print your favorite song titles on a piece of paper and glue them to the record.

Taylor Swift The Life Of A Showgirl Pumpkin
Equipment
- Craft foam or cardboard scraps
Materials
- 1 Foam craft pumpkin or pumpkin of your choice
- Teal Mint craft paint or similar color
- Rhinestones in a variety of sizes
- Orange feathers
- 7" 45 RPM record optional
- Orange Flame craft paint or similar color optional
- Silver glitter optional
Instructions
- Paint your pumpkin with the teal acrylic paint. You will need 2-3 coats.

- Glue a large rhinestone to the front of your pumpkin, about halfway between the center and the top of the pumpkin.

- Glue another rhinestone, any size, in the same spot on the back of the pumpkin. This will help you keep the rhinestones lined up and symmetrical.

- Place four medium rhinestones, evenly spaced, on top of the pumpkin. This will also help you line up the next rhinestones.

- Start from the large rhinestone on the front and make a line of smaller rhinestones to each of the two top front ones. I gave mine a little "droop", for lack of a better word. Now connect the two front rhinestones to the next ones and finally have them meet at the one on the back.

- Now make another row of rhinestones. I started by adding a large one to each side, then connecting them with smaller ones, meeting at the one in the back again. I gave these a little "droop" too.

- Finally make a row of rhinestones across the top, connecting the large rhinestone in front to the one in the back.

- To make the feather fan, start by gluing feathers to a piece of craft foam or cardboard. Don't worry what it looks like…you won't see it when you're finished.

- Keep adding feathers until you have a good base. Once I added enough feathers, I realized I'd need to make it sturdier, so I added another larger piece of craft foam to the back.

- Keep adding feathers, overlapping each other and covering the craft foam or cardboard, until you have a large feather fan.

- Use hot glue to attach it to the back of the pumpkin. You'll want the bottom of the fan to be flush with the bottom of the pumpkin. This will help keep it from falling over backwards Note: Be sure the feathers at the bottom are attached firmly to the fan or it won't stick to the pumpkin.

- Now display your sparkly pumpkin and impress all your Swiftie friends!
Notes
- Making these for a party? I always paint the pumpkins ahead of time so party day is just for decorating.
- I’ve linked to the paints I used but you can purchase them at a craft store for less. You can also use any similar colors.
- If you want to add the record, you can find cheap ones at most thrift stores.
