Tips & Tricks

  • Additional liquid might be needed depending on your blender. If the mixture is too thick to blend smoothly, you can add a splash of water.
  • Turn this refreshing drink into a frozen adult cocktail with the addition of some vodka or tequila.
  • To keep your slushies cool without diluting them, pour some watermelon juice into an ice cube tray and freeze. Once it’s completely frozen, place the watermelon in a freezer bag or airtight container and save for later. The watermelon ice will add more flavor to your drink as it melts.
  • Try using seedless watermelon if you can find it. That way you won’t have to worry about removing the seeds before blending.

Can I Use Fresh Watermelon?

Yes! While I recommend freezing it, you can substitute fresh watermelon if needed. You’ll just want to throw some ice cubes into the blender to get the slushie consistency you want.

Can I Use Other Types of Melon?

Sure! This basic recipe would be delicious with honeydew, cantaloupe, or other types of ripe melon. You can also use other fruits like strawberries or even pineapple.
