Tips & Tricks

  • Be careful not to add too much alcohol or your shots may not set properly.
  • For an easy no-mess way to fill your shot cups, try piping the pudding mixture through a pastry bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut off.
  • If you don’t have limoncello, you can leave it out and use a lemon-flavored vodka instead. These also taste delicious with vanilla vodka. You can increase the vodka by 1/4 cup if you decide to leave out the limoncello.

How should I store these?

Cover the shots with plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container. They should keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Wait to add the whipped cream on top until right before serving.

What’s the best way to serve pudding shots?

These can definitely get a bit messy if you’re trying to take them like a traditional shot. I prefer to serve them with mini plastic spoons so my guests can eat them like a dessert.

Can these be frozen?

Yes! Pudding shots will keep in the freezer for up to two months. Freeze them without the whipped cream and garnish. You’ll also want to keep them tightly covered or use shot cups with lids. Just be sure to leave a little extra room at the top, in case they expand.
